that is a good question as to whether they would have tried to have a baby if it were not for the cancer. I am not sure. While I agree they are going for the lifestyle/cooking and now family vlog....if they can too many negative comments about things I think they will just go silent. Jessica is very sensitive and while she appears strong no telling what is ahead for her medically or from the parenting experience. It is always a roller coaster. She does have some hecklers from time to time on the channel.
I think someone said she was not bothered about having a baby before the cancer.

I actually think they have been good about giving critical updates after scans etc. Next ones are coming up( i think next week) and I expect they will share that news as soon as they have the report from the docs.
Definitely. They have always been great at that. And when there was nothing more to report, they did not make videos. They did not do what the brat did - filming mindless useless vlogs about shopping, coffee shops, cleaning of cabinets and similar atrocities. The most boring crap. The Krocks have some sense and know their mostly intelligent audience deserves better.

Here's some heart-warming comments from their live stream we can chat about. BRB just popping out for some worming tablets to cure me 👍

those comments are interesting. I can't watch the cooking videos. just not interested. i think with comments about living arrangements and depression and baby they might not post much in the future.

Their vlog seems to be more about how amazing they were to drive 12 hours to be supportive!
I'm sorry but they are soooooooo boring 🥱😴
There vlog is now boring and I think their hope is to rev up the plant based stuff as I get the impression that Brian's income was/is mostly that. An occasional shot of their baby girl and one can only hope it does not go the direction of some I have watched where the feature becomes the child.

I know right!! That's what happens when you share your privacy with the world and make an income from it. I think (hope) that Jessica and Brian will handle things online well. As long as they "make good choices" they will be OK here.
You know the cap Sarah was wearing in bed? They had literally just had it printed and sent to them! Pimping merch!

I think it's the balsamic ketchup glaze that made it burn on the top. I won't be making it far to many ingredients and the amount of fibre in that thing 😒 l mean toilet papers expensive 🤪

That journal study is very very interesting indeed. Thanks for sharing 👍

She appeared (we only know what they show) to be in a much better headspace. I am genuinely thrilled for them, she mentioned about her Mum questioning the decision to have a baby as previously she hadn't felt ready and if it was because of her cancer. Found that very interesting, would they have had a child if not for her diagnosis. 🤔

They are a great match, both very quirky. I like them.

Yeah, that was what I was most curious about. The organ they thought the cancer might have metastasized to was her liver. Apparently the doctors said that she was showing all signs that it had indeed spread there, not just through what they could see from images but through other signs too. However, they couldn’t get a biopsy of the liver (I forget what the reason was) so they never fully confirmed if she was stage 4.

The liver surgeon was also the one whose opinion got her big surgery canceled the first time. I think he said that since she was showing all signs of having cancer in the liver, that the surgery would end up not working in her favor. I’m not sure, but I think his reasoning was that a big surgery like that would end up working against her by making her weaker for the battle she would have to fight with stage 4.
Agreed. And the big surgery would not be attempted if she were stage 4 as in that case they thought that it would not make a difference anyway. If I'm not mistaken. And as they believed the liver lesions were cancer (making it metastatic cancer, stage 4) they were against the surgery. But then one doctor was willing to do the surgery which revealed no cancer at all. Anywhere. I think they expected to see cancer in another organ apart from the liver. And this is what still seems unclear to me. I think the 2nd tumour was meant to be in the uterus (The first one was in the ovary)? Why do I remember them suspecting endometrial cancer? Ovarian and endometrial.

I also don't remember why they could not check the liver but there definitely was an explanation.

This couple has some HORRIBLE luck.

I know it’s probably a coincidence and there’s probably not a scientific reason behind it, but Brian is the third person with a plant-based diet that I’ve seen get diagnosed with cancer this past week. My brother’s father-in-law has been a strict vegan for 20 years and he just got diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer. He’s not that old either, he’s in his fifties. Then a coworker of mine also got a stage IV cancer diagnosis and she’s known as the office vegan.

Just saw it and couldn't believe my eyes. The Krocks really can't catch a break. I hope Brian will make a full recovery. It is hopeful that surgery will be the only treatment, no?
Comments on the video mention several people with relatives who had the kidney removed and are doing well many years later.

Brian has a kidney tumor. Mayo docs think the odds are 85% that it is cancer. He's going to have a biopsy and if cancer, will have the kidney removed in a couple weeks. Apparently removing the kidney is all the treatment he will need.

Thanks for the extra information! The fact that this cancer isn’t responsive to chemo or radiation definitely makes the possibility of a recurrence extremely scary. I guess at this point, he’s just very lucky that they caught it before it had seemingly spread. I do hope it just stays gone so he can raise his daughter.

One thing I found interesting in the "Live" is the absence of "super chats" where you can ask a question and make a donation. I have watched their lives before and they took in significant donations...some of which YT takes but a nice profitable hour. I saw the "super chat" was enabled but don't recall any coming in. I think the motivation for a "live" is getting those chats rolling in. Maybe I am all off on that but what comes to my mind when I see a creator doing lives.

Agree 100%. As some of those viewers were talking about "on line" shower I thought to my self how many family and friends showers I have gone to and I certainly would have to pass on one for a stranger online!!!!
So strange that people would want to see that. How is a baby shower worth watching? And yes, especially a stranger's baby shower.

True, I misspoke. The cousin is 500 miles away. I guess I just hate this thing of surrogate babies, they're treated like a new puppy- exciting etc! But even a puppy stays with its mum until it's weaned...

Oh, and I was having a joking "Meghan Markle" moment with "are the dogs ok". Stupid of me, been on another thread too long! I don't really think anything is wrong with them. Though it's possible they'd don't get walked much?

We had some neighbours where the husband was dying, and they got a kitten from the SPCA to be company for the wife when the chap died. Now that seems a better idea to me than grifting a baby from someone.

Call me old-fashioned, possums.

They totally WILL film that baby.
not a question of "will" they film the baby but rather how much? So common on YT creators have one focus and then have a child....child then becomes the focus. That is where I tune out. I detest seeing cameras put in the face of infants and young children.

I think it is the hair style (not much choice) as you look at her "before" photos with the longer hair that is smooth and I think she looks about her age. I always think most of us can benefit from a bit of makeup and of course her choice but she seems makeup free. With that "permed" look of hair she does look like a grandma rather than young woman but that will pass. Not sure on Brian's age but about the same I think and indeed he looks far beyond his 30's.
I think she looks older before the short hair too. I actually admire her natural look. Not everyone on youtube has to look like "instagram girls".

Of course the type of ovarian cancer in the initial diagnosis was wrong....

Brian put a good spin on things but I don't think a doctor will say in advance of surgery anything about potential for treatment post surgery. Based on both he and Jessica I'll pass on the plant based diet although I think his comment about being obese his entire life is a real risk factor for this cancer.

@Saydee I didn’t realize it was RCC that your husband had. Thanks for the info from the China study. In 2018 I lost a friend to cancer caused by asbestos exposure. He was in his 60’s and about to retire when he was diagnosed. In the 1970’s he was in the US Navy and was involved in removing asbestos containing material from submarines, This was before it was known that you should wear a protective suit and a respirator when working with asbestos.

He died within 4 months of getting diagnosed. There is one thing that gives me some comfort: every year he took 2 weeks of vacation and flew to wherever his daughter was living at the time (she moved a lot due to her husband’s job) and did fun things with her like scuba diving and sky diving. If he had waited until retirement to take those trips they would never have had those wonderful times.

Jessica was up at Mayo clinic on 7/7 and had scans etc. No waiting around for a month like TT...they will be doing an update tomorrow 7/9 for those interested. Brian gave a hint that his smile indicates the results.
