On day three and I am feeling so snackish. I have been adding more fats to my meals but I still feel the urge to gorge on cookies and sweets and all those carb things!
did anyone else struggle with this in their first few days/weeks? I’ve planned out my day macro wise and by the end of the day I will be over by 200 calories because I just smacked - still only 16g of carbs though.
I’m hoping things will calm down next week and I can start cutting down on calories (I want to lose about 50lb) but right now it’s so hard 😩
Yeah don't worry, sometimes I snack quite a bit on a challenging day (normally if I do a lot of exercise)
 
I know this sounds crazy but during the first week I really struggled with sweet cravings too so I did some googling and every time I fancy a mars bar I eat a pickled gherkin 😂😂 I know it’s mental but there is some science behind it as the sourness overpowers the need for sweet things in your brain!

I didn’t even like pickled gherkins and now I quite enjoy them ... on week 3 now and no sweet cravings what so ever!
I love gherkins! You can’t really eat them quickly but they’re gooooood

day 8
Scrambled eggs, bacon, carbzone bread
2 poppers, pepperami, babybel and brie
Chicken fritters and cauliflower cheese

I’m on Day 9 and I’ve been the same - just eating a lot like bits of cheese, pork scratchings etc. I have read that at 3 weeks in you will become large adapted and this is the time people start to not feel very hungry and can go longer between meals due to the way the body is now digesting everything. Fingers crossed that happens! 😂

After eating that I was still starving but it’s an hour later now and I feel quite full... keto is weeeeird lol

Day 1 of breakfast and lunch done. Will edit later on tonight of my 1st day, but so far so good 🥳
Day 1:
Cheesy breadsticks and half an avocado for breakfast and lunch
Cauliflower rice, mince meat and grated mozarella cheese for dinner
Finished on 18g Net Carbs

Day 9, woo! 12 days left of the 21!
Scrambled eggs, bacon, low carb bread and butter
left over chicken fritters
Steak and swede chips and salad
Pepperami and a babybel

Salmon, cauliflower rice, salad with parmesan cheese on top and Skinny Sauce BBQ Dip on the side
Finished on 12g Net Carbs

how do you make your cheesy breadsticks? I’ve seen recipes with and without almond flour; I don’t have any almond flour and don’t think I’d use it a lot to interested to hear if you make them without!

I know what you mean, I don't have any almond flour either, so in a bowl I mix 60g grated mozarella cheese, 10g parmesan cheese, 5g garlic granuls and 1 egg. Then I put the mixture on a baking tray and flaten it out like a pizza and I put in the oven for 13 minutes. Once it's cooked, I cut them into 4 pieces and I eat 2 pieces for breakfast with half an avocado on the side and eat the other 2 pieces for lunch. It's very filling so it keeps me going. I do Intemittent Fasting too so I start eating just after 10am and finish by 6pm, but most of the time, I finish eating by 5pm, hope this helps :)

I think: allow yourself this in the “transition period” as it IS hard not to, and you don’t want to fail at the first hurdle by being too hard on yourself. I’m the biggest snacker ever and I’ve found that it DOES actually get easier over time. Every diet I’ve done I’ve been very “all or nothing” but this is one of the few that I’ve actually felt like I can be a bit more balanced with it.

I’ve conquered my first keto birthday! And I drank 3 bottles of slim Prosecco 😂🙈 WAY over on calories, but still nailed my carb target, haha. Picnic in the park with slim Prosecco, deli meats, cheese, nuts and Cheesies 🐷

mines in the oven right now - only had cheddar so let’s see how it turns out 😆 thank you so much for your help! Also love the idea of having it formeals with avocado 😋

I am keen to try Keto again. Did it ages ago and had a lot of booze one night and I thought I was dying the next day! Worst hangover I have ever had in my whole entire life. Couldnt even sit upright for a whole day. Have read this is common. Anyone experienced this?!

Not a hangover but a couple of years ago I was doing a low carb diet and decided to have a bottle of wine with my boyfriend, 2 hours later was spewing the bottle of wine and whatever else was left in my stomach which NEVER happens, I couldn’t believe it! My boyfriend thought it was something I ate 😂

Dinner tonight was absolutely DEE-lish and took all of 5 mins to prepare. It did occur to me halfway through eating that perhaps I should have included some broccoli with it. 😅

Fried halloumi and pulled bbq pork. It’s the ‘rib world pulled pork’ from Iceland, the box is 400g so I’ve got half left in the fridge now for tomorrow’s lunch. Came with a sachet of bbq sauce but I just used my own sugar free one. I was so happy to eat this as before this I was serving my son scampi and chips and feeling so jealous that I couldn’t really just eat an easy freezer tea. This meal is definitely going in rotation!

Also today I made some Keto chocolate truffles. It really didn’t work. The Erythritol had that weird cooling effect, I know some body said this upthread. I have found Erythritol works fine for me in bakes but not something like the Chocolate truffles. Luckily my dad lives round the corner and he’s got no tastebuds so they won’t go to waste 😂🤪

My food shop arrived and I’ve had some 85% chocolate arrived - can’t wait for something sweet!
