Just seen an ad on insta where she's dancing to her new single with Jedward! Very very weird how far she's fallen down the celeb pecking order!
Must be because she made it to 64 in Ireland. On behalf of my country I apologise.

I'm not surprised Bonnie is making sure people know she had NOTHING to do with Katy's latest music! 😂

To be able to have constant metamorphosis for different albums it takes a hell of a lot of work and range. Madonna reinvented herself with each album and was on top of the game for nearly 20 years, and Beyoncé is in a similar boat. The thing is, all Katy ever did was bright, cartoonish, jolly pop songs. It was all bras that shoot whipped cream, dancing sharks and kitsch costumes. That’s her whole image. She’s a bit old to try and pivot at the late stage to being sexy, and working with Dr Luke was a dreadful idea.

At least they didn't spend waste much money on the new video. The close up shot of the album listing for a few seconds is so in your face 🤪, no one competent is at the helm.

No idea if true but on the Popheads Reddit sub, they seem to think she was going around with a guy filming when they could and it cost about $200 altogether to do because they had to do it in a rush with how badly WW bombed. It's better than that admittedly but still god-awful and it doesn't help that it's another Dr Puke song.

Lifetimes is so boring and will most likely disappear without a trace. Apparently that song had 8 co-writers! I don't know how that's even possible with the same few lines repeated over and over 🤣

Well it's nowhere near as cringe as ww so it's already way better in my book. It's pretty boring and not much of anything, more like a tit filler track on an album not one you release with a video. She needs to drop the need to look 20, you aren't 20.

She would look so much better with more clothes on. I’m sure she can more than afford some nice, well fitting clothes - that show off her slim figure.
I don’t want to see her a hanging out of ridiculous (barely there) clothing.

I feel the same with Britney. The beautiful clothing she can afford - and how great she would look in them (and minus the ratty hair extensions).

Yet she is doing interviews hinting it was just her who wrote it with another woman or she wrote it on her own for her daughter.

I get being a fan means you want to support it but some of the crap her fans are coming out with is mindblowing, especially since they saw nothing wrong with WW and were adamant it would put her to the top again. The amount of them who think Lifetimes is Teenage Dream #2 and will be the song to get her back there is something else. You only have to see some of the stunts she is doing to show even she is shitting it now. We've had the Ibiza club appearance with her wearing hardly anything and the alternative album cover where she is wearing a teeny starfish bra and most of her boob is showing.

The a/bits out thing is desperate. There's something quite sexless about her these days.

After years of epic flops, Katy's tried to recreate exactly how she was in her 2010 heyday: boobs, sequins, Dr Luke songs, glossy black hair, and cartoony props.

Back then, Lady Gaga was getting praise for being groundbreakingly "creative" when really she was churning out the most outlandish gimmicks she could think of for attention, and acting like it was high art.

A lot of others jumped on board the gimmick trend including Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj. Katy's own spin on this was that her gimmicks and props were humorous.

Part of the appeal was mild shock value of something random and weird, but shock value always has a limited shelf life. (By 2011 it was starting to get old, which is why Adele blew up that year with her understated style and focus on the talent, whereas Gaga failed to recreate her 2009 peak.)

Katy is trying to go back to 2009-2011, but gimmicks aren't interesting any more and humour has moved on, as have trends in feminism. Her attempt to be "on-the-nose" and ironic with her female empowerment video just seems crass and the joke doesn't really land.

It's much easier to be cancelled now and there is guilt by association hence Dr Luke being poison, making the video look even worse. The songs are mediocre, which to be honest I think is the same as some of her earlier ones, but her fans carried her then. She doesn't have enough committed fans to carry her now.

Katie tried to reinvent herself for the Witness era in 2017 and it didn't go well. She nearly got it: she tried to appeal to popular culture, and to drag culture which was blowing up. But she didn't get her image right, with the public not liking her frumpy bleached short hairdo. Also, she was trying to be "woke" (i.e. a sanctimonious leftist), which clashed with her usual humour and spoiled it all.

I can see why she's decided that the public are not here for anything "different" from her and should just go back to exactly how she was when she was popular. But times have changed too much for that. She's actually spoiling a future career as a successful legacy artist.

Katy Perry is under investigation in Spain for shooting a video on protected land.
Well judging by the midweek positions for it, it wasn't worth the hassle because, at the minute, the song is only at #56 in the UK and seems to be doing even worse on streaming.

Business insider has a whole article from a PR person on if a comeback can be salvaged.

It ends on "It's achievable if the quality is there," he concluded. "Ultimately, that's the driver."

 we're two singles deep, both terrible, and she's never released a good album. It's safe to say the quality isn't there.

I almost feel mean when the whole internet is hating Katy, almost.

Teenage dream was a great pop album imo! Prism had its moments too. Since then though…
