There have been rumours for years that she is a coke fiend. When she split with Travi, and did all the interviews and songs about him being an addict, friends hinted she wasn't entirely innocent herself. When she was with Brand, there were a few stories in the papers about them having arguments over it as well and there was a picture doing the rounds a few years back, looking like she was sniffing something while on some guy's shoulders at a club but it seems to have disappeared as far as I can see.
I remember he guitarist once posted photos of twitter and there was a line of coke ok her dressing room table, probably around Travi times

The idea of Brand taking the moral high ground, eh?

I know I'm not the first to say this, but it's quite odd and feels desperate the whole showing off her body in the new video. It's clear that she's lost weight - I preferred how she looked before (I'm sure she'll be heartbroken to hear this) - and doesn't look as curvy. The main thing is that she's always seemed quite innocuous despite the figure she had and consequently had a very slightly cheeky but family friendly persona that worked. This feels like a different Katy Perry so it's not even going to resonate with the fan base that grew up with her.

Or of course, this could all be balls as I'm just home from a friend's party and pretty damn drunk.

Nah, I think you’re spot on tbh. She seems to have gone in the direction of ‘LOOK AT MY bits AND a. I’M SEXY ACTUALLY’ with the comeback. Taylor Swift has the same vibe as the old KP but despite all the skimpy outfits, the pair of them have about as much sex appeal as a couple of breeze blocks. They’re both attractive obviously, but they don’t have that *thing* like (let’s say) Madonna or even the old Britney that means they can get away with sexing up their image. And that’s not even a particularly bad thing, but you have to play to your strengths.

She needs to face up to the fact that her pop career is over. It's sad that most female pop stars end up on the scrap heap by the time they're 30 and the new starlets have clawed their way to the top. I was watching a clip on YouTube yesterday of the most watched YT videos of the 2010s. From about 2008 onwards, it was dominated by KP and Lady Gaga music vids. They're both pretty much past-it in pop Terms now, but at least Gaga is versatile and can turn her hand to other things and more mature styles of music. Sorry Katy, your 15 mins is up.

Everyone peaks and then it's all down hill and it's happened ever since entertainment was invented. It always looks desperate when they try and give it another go. Surely they must know the odds and you're only big once? Or does the ego prevent them from believing it?
Count yourself very lucky you were popular and successful and made mega bucks.

I actually think they could stay in the industry if they adapted their image and style to their age but they don’t they just try and act like they are still 20 and it doesn’t work. Also because your fan base isn’t 20 anymore either so we don’t like it and 20 year olds have people they admire of their own age, play to your audience

To keep that height and momentum like Beyonce and Taylor Swift is incredibly difficult. Most fall off. I find Taylor boring but I am so impressed with how she has engaged girls of my daughters age - 12y olds when shes nearly my age. Its bizarre. Katy had too much of a break, I fear.

Just seen an ad on insta where she's dancing to her new single with Jedward! Very very weird how far she's fallen down the celeb pecking order!

Think this album could be a flop too... I wish she would surprise us with something completely different like a slow song album.

Thinking Of You is one of her best songs in my opinion but because it wasn't pop/dance like her previous songs, it didn't do too well.

She should have gone in the direction of more mature poppy singer-songwriter stuff. Like Natalie Imbruglia who's still making albums and touring.

It's impressive how Taylor swift has amassed so many fans from 8-38.

But Katy never really had that much to back up her success and managed to alienate people as she goes. She's really not that smart.

Disappeared off the hot 100 after a week!
I always found KP music as more of a nostalgia novelty act, like a steps, bewitched 90s era that shouldn't be re-created. Her music is very much of a early 2010s that doesn't and never will stand the test of time. She's never dabbled in anything else to give her longevity in the entertainment business so this new album reeks of a desperate vanity project that is clearly nosediving

I loved never really over, shame she didn’t do more stuff like that. It’s my favourite of her songs actually

A novelty act is exactly what she reminds you of at times. I remember when stuff started coming out about her doing the residency in Vegas and someone who had seen the rehearsal said she sang to a huge piece of crap. Unsurprisingly, not a lot of people believed it but not only did it turn out to be true, it was even worse than anyone could imagine.

I like Last Friday Night (video is genius) and Chained to the Rhythm. I think her ship has sailed now, too much time off between albums and despite her desperation, she is not a sexy young thing anymore.
