It’s a woman’s world even though I have to get Ozempic skinny, strip off and hire an alleged rapist to produce my music in order to get recognised xx

I know I'm not the first to say this, but it's quite odd and feels desperate the whole showing off her body in the new video. It's clear that she's lost weight - I preferred how she looked before (I'm sure she'll be heartbroken to hear this) - and doesn't look as curvy. The main thing is that she's always seemed quite innocuous despite the figure she had and consequently had a very slightly cheeky but family friendly persona that worked. This feels like a different Katy Perry so it's not even going to resonate with the fan base that grew up with her.

Or of course, this could all be bollocks as I'm just home from a friend's party and pretty damn drunk.

I’ve never seen anything more pathetic than this attempt at a comeback from Katy. So desperate and cringe. Embarrassing

Her days are really numbered. Every song in the past 9 years have been a complete flop. She belongs in 2011 when it was the last time she had a decent hit.

There's been no progression with her as an artist. She's a literal 2010s novelty act. None of her songs will go down in history.

See you later KP and Jlo

Doesn't she have like a young kid, so she risked her life knowing her young kid would need her? She had no need to go. It's not like she was like the rest of us driving to work to put food on the table. Vanity, that's what it is.

We common folk get told to get rid of our petrol and diesel cars, to recycle our food packets and then millionaires get to jolly on up to space for a minute just because they can and waste all that fuel/resource. It's hypocrisy.

Oh. So having a rapist co-write and produce a female empowerment track is satire too. Got it.

I think Wendy's is winning the internet!

They don't even have one in my country, but this will get my custom.

This is such an unbelievable misfire.

How on earth did she think a woman’s anthem produced by Dr Luke of all people would be a good idea.

I’m not one for conspiracy theories (well, I am but I don’t usually believe them) but how on earth did she win that award? Most iconic performance up against Madonna, Britney and Christina’s and Lady Gaga’s Paparazzi?! And it was fan voted?! Nah, I’m not buying it. Couldn’t even remember it til I saw it on Twitter about 30 minutes ago.

Also, OT, but who is Chappell Roan? Saw her arrival and outfit (very cool) and the performance looked awesome til I pressed unmute and heard the most mid song I’ve ever listened to.

I'm sorry but 'we put the ass in Astronaut' is so bad I think I might die.
One small ride for these women = a huge step back for real feminists.
How does she know Yuri Gagarin didn't have a nice arse under his suit? She's such an embarrassment.

yeah it’s a cool experience and all, but it’s not that deep really is it
It was all a big AD. The crying and saying their life has changed forever is o_O

All the influencers posting about it being a monumental moment for feminism are ridiculous. It was a joyride. https://tattle.life/threads/delicio...-wont-change-that.41487/page-46#post-22332220

Jan Moir nails it  https://archive.is/Rxy31

From sexy jumpsuits to wailing popstars and giddy Kardashians, why this space she-caper was a step backwards for womankind - thanks to the sisters who risked little more than an imploding implant: JAN MOIR

In their fresh blow dries and Blue Origin-branded sexy jumpsuits which Lauren helped design with some top bods from Oscar de la Renta, insisting on wearing Skims bodycon underwear, they understood their mission to the hilt. ‘We’re putting the ass in astronaut!’ said Katy Perry. Maybe so, but they had as much control over events as party girls crowded into the back of a pink limo on a hen night – and at times that is exactly what they sounded like.

On the glutinous television coverage provided by in-house Blue Origin team, there was only the following soundtrack from the 11-minute voyage: ‘We’re in outer space,’ screamed Katy Perry soon after take-off, an observation which is not going to win her The Congressional Space Medal of Honour any time soon. ‘Oh! Look at the moon, you guys, look at the moon!’ yelled someone else. ‘Oh my god, oh my god!’ another voice bellowed. But what did these women expect to see? The Sydney Opera House? Yoda in a Skoda?

I think the new song's even worse than Woman's world tbh. I just went to listen and didn't realise I've already heard it before cause it's so generic. She's going mad out in all these videos trying to be sexy and it's just crude and grim, she's desperately trying to cling to her youth and it's fucking cringe. She's so beautiful she should make more songs like never really over or ballads like unconditionally and still look and sound amazing instead of trying to compete with the young'uns, it's not working Katy ffs.

She was very much ‘of her time’ and that time was very short, essentially.

She was one of the last, and probably best, sexualised, risqué pin up style female pop stars. When kissing a girl was still titillatingly taboo and you could get away with song titles like ‘ur so gay’ and make a sketch solely about the size of your tits on SNL.

I loved the fact she was a natural curvy woman at the time, and she’s actually a lot more talented a musician than people give her credit for, but that whole act hasn’t survived the metoo movement, so that’s a massive chunk of her catalogue tarnished I guess. She very much rode the ‘sex sells’ approach, and whilst she still went on to greater heights (Firework, Roar etc) her original act hasn’t aged well at all.
