I found having a newborn and showering the easy period - I’d stick him in a bouncer in the doorway so he would see me. Plus, my showers would be quick and efficient. Minutes. Longer showers or baths can be taken when partner home right?! Toddler and having a shower is a different kettle of fish.
Exactly. You pick your moment - baby in the bouncer on the bathroom floor facing you, you get in the shower and quickly wash/wash your hair and then get out. Less than a 5minute job. Yes ok it’s not a luxurious, long, relaxing pamper session but that’s life!!!! You eat/sleep/shower and do the basics as & when you can in those first few mad weeks and then it should naturally start to fall into more of a normal routine as the weeks turn into months.

I honestly dunno what exactly Kate was expecting this to be like?!

I would totally get a night nanny if I could afford it too! I’m surprised it took them so long and wasn’t booked in advance.

I know two people who have had the money to hire one and they are not as wrinkled as myself.

If I'm not washing my hair, I can be in and out in a, couple of minutes.
She's going to find motherhood a challenge if she keeps making issues of things that don't need to be.

Echoing other comments, I often bring my baby in the bathroom with me for showers and not once in 6 months have I not showered, brushed my hair and teeth in the morning. I don't believe when people say they can't.
Also, I had a reflux/colic baby and it was HARD because I was on my own In the evenings when she would start crying for hours on end. However, I managed and I feel so proud of myself for bringing this baby up predominantly on my own (when he's at work and family live too far for support bubble/in high risk areas) for the past six months. I'm sorry that she's struggling and I know I shouldn't mum shame but we are all in the same boat.

Suppose it depends on the day, there were days when even brushing my teeth was an achievement but I know if I’d no time to do basic hygiene I certainly wouldn’t have had time to update social media. Her priorities are all wrong.

Absolutely! If she has time to update her social media all day then she has time to have a quick shower.

I do get that people find the baby stage boring, the sleep deprivation a shock but her narrative is “this is so hard” “I have no time to eat a meal”....really why? Because you’re a single mum, because you have another child to tend to, because you were forced to go back to your job???

Agreed. Ridiculous.

This is horrible of me but I wonder if its a shock because she equated being a mummy to her dogs as being the same to an actual human infant.
The only other logical reason I can come up with is the trauma attached to having a poorly newborn or PND. I really don't want to go down the route of competitive insta mum struggles for clicks but that's always a possibility. I get anxious watching her stories so I try not to.

I don’t really follow her but her daughter is only a few weeks old and it’s just pure misery posting. I know how hard a new baby can be but given the year that’s in it I think she needs to give her head a wobble.

It's the absolute sense of entitlement. You chose to have a baby, yes it's been hard but you have everything at your disposal to care for that baby. Stop posting sad face grid photos, stop storying at 4am to show everyone you're up feeding, stop fawning over your dogs in some sort of bizarre protest, and get on with working on your mental health and raising that baby. It's like something changed in her once she posted about possible pnd. The engagement, new followers, and high stats must've made her think misery posting will keep paying off.

I don't see the problem in the "doula" she needs help, & has the means to pay for it.They can't have as much family help, restrictions anyone??

Also BOJ is working, so it's not three people minding the baby.

Also the fake disgust above about breast beds. It's her sense of humor?
Boj folded his company in Jan so is out of work. So he is not working.

You think it’s impossibly hard at times with your first cos you compare to easy life before. Then you have a second with a toddler and you realise how easy one was! Breastfeeding a newborn whilst feeding and running round after a toddler. Now that is hard!

Haha yes! I really appreciated how easy just having one was when I had a newborn and was home schooling my 5 year old! There were many a days when I pretty much threw both of the kids at my partner the minute he walked in the door from work and went for an hour long bath just to gather my thoughts. Some days I didn’t even wash in there, just laid in my own filth but in SILENCE with the door locked 🤣

Wow if only all the rest of the mothers out there could take a night off! Money talks at the end of the day. She shouldn't have had a child if she can't look after one 3 weeks in. Yes it's bloody hard work but what does she expect?! I find the night time doula a cop out. Don't have have a baby if you can't raise a baby. Terrible. These people have too much money on their hands. I've had to unfollow. It shows to me that she doesn't really want to be a mother and is in it for what she can make out of her poor baby like the rest of these insta fake mums.

I just could not imagine paying some random stranger to come into my home at night to settle, soothe and care for my 3 week old baby while I slept in the next room. No sorry that goes against every fibre in my body as a mother. Even if I was a multi millionaire there is no way I would even entertain the idea.

Lazy parenting at its finest. Love the idea of a baby but hate the reality of it. And can they dress that blooming baby correctly! Just a vest!? They really are clueless. First time parents or not! This makes me so sad for noa. Just another baby born out of greed for ads, spons and tacky TV shows.

We’ve all agreed Kate is obviously struggling, and for one reason or another they don’t have family staying with them for support...so just wondering what’s so wrong with them getting a Doula in? I don’t know if I personally ever would, but is it really that bad? Surely it’s in Noa’s best interests that she’s got professional help in. Boj might be working through the day (we don’t know) so unrealistic to expect him to be up all night on his own with Noa.
I’d rather see things improve for her if she’s getting help instead of the weird insta posts. Hopefully the doula will put a proper baby grow on Noa too instead of her been half dressed all the time 😬

You do whatever you can to get through. If that means hiring someone to come in and do whatever then so be it.

For me I feel a baby needs their Mother or Father in those first weeks. I just don't understand this hiring a stranger in to care for your child. I wouldn't be able to sleep without the baby beside me, so it would be pointless for me anyway.

But also, if I did have a doula I would want my child to be a nightmare and awake ALL night to get my monies worth 😂😂
