Is there a way to report that to Patreon? If someone isn’t abiding by the tier offerings people are paying for? It seems like that would be some sort of terms and conditions violation.
Patreon has an explicit hands-off policy regarding creators not delivering benefits. Their suggestion is that member request a refund and cancel their membership.
I don’t think I want to know if anyone is part of that tier. The fact I’ve not seen a viewer having dinner with him in a vlog suggests not, but we know JoJo is not good at keeping tier promises so you never know.
When JoJo added the $100 tier and $200 tier, the limit for the $100 tier was set at 10 members and the limit for the $200 tier was set at 5 members. You can tell how many people are currently giving at those tiers by looking at the number of tier memberships still available. For a least a month there was someone at the $200 tier, but as of now, there is no one at that tier. There are two people currently paying at the $100 tier. They are supposed to be featured in a vlog, but I haven’t seen that happen yet. I wouldn’t join those tiers because it’s a) a ridiculous amount of money to give, b) it’s a one-time benefit but a reoccurring payment, and c) I already wasn’t receiving the lower tier benefit so I doubted JoJo would deliver on the higher tiers.
Sadly, until JoJo's Patreon members cancel and let him know that he isn't honoring his terms, there probably isn't anything to be done.
Most of his supporters are unlikely to leave him over him not doing what he says he will do. They are very forgiving. For example, in April, 2020, after months of procrastination, JoJo scheduled a Zoom call for Patreon members. On the day of, he posted a message, “Sorry Pals something came up in the family.” (Sound familiar?) He indicated it would be delayed, which it was, for a year. The response to things like that from the supporters is always that it’s okay, they understand, and it’s no problem. I, on the other hand, just bit my tongue and made no comment, since I know it’s not okay and it is a problem to do things like that to people.
