If that's the case, though, what really breaks my heart is that he stayed with O even after finding out the truth. There's a whole load of duty/guilt/love? in that idea.

That could be a bit of self preservation on MS's part...it would be easier to believe your partner is leaving you because they think there is another child on the way, rather than just leaving you because they don't want to be with you anymore

Agree. In my opinion it was more about being fed up with Millie and being so smitten with ON that he didn’t even mind the “package” that came with her. At least I hope so, the other version is just too painful.
