I haven’t seen it yet but I do plan on watching it. When JK was on I always said he’s a horrible man. The way he got into peoples faces was ridiculous. Im
Surprised he wasn’t beard up on the outside! Not that I condone violence but he acts like the big bollocks

Just watched both episodes today, I did used to watch this show at one point when I was younger and happened to be home. At some point though it started feeling a bit wrong and Jeremy started to really annoy me with the way he treated guests, so I stopped. Then I found out that lie detectors that were seen as law on the JK show are basically bollocks, so that put me off even more. How many innocent people have gone on that show, taken a ‘lie detector’ as a last resort to prove their innocence only for it to falsely come back that they were lying and had their lives ruined? It’s really disgusting and that’s before you even get to the documentary.

I’m not bothered if having watched and been entertained by this show at one point makes me a hypocrite for what I’m about to say. We live we learn. The documentary wasn’t really a surprise, the show preyed on the vulnerable, less intelligent and disadvantaged in society. They were lied to and prodded like bears at the circus so they would ‘perform’ for the cameras for people in the audience and at home to point and laugh at them. Modern day freak show and I’m glad it’s now cancelled. Jeremy Kyle is a vile man who was happy to be the face and the name of the show and have his ego stroked by it for years. I don’t doubt he knew exactly what was going on and encouraged it. It was said on the documentary that anyone who spoke up against the things that were being done would get the sack. That doesn’t mean that he’s the only one accountable but it’s easy to see why he gets the brunt of it. He was the one on camera shouting and degrading people, acting all big bollocks because he knew security would never let him get hit. He and 2 others came up with the idea for the show if I remember rightly from the documentary. The ‘aftercare team’ gave the impression that the show was out to legitimately help people but that clearly wasn’t the case.

I do think the backstage staff should be held accountable as well, they harassed, lied to and manipulated people into going on that show. I hope they all feel horrific for their contribution to this tit show of a programme. I’d imagine they probably feel a lot more remorse than Jeremy Kyle himself does. Jeremy doesn’t seem like he gives a flying rats arse about anyone but himself.

The woman who branded herself with the JK signature, I felt sad for her. She is exactly the kind of person the JK show preyed on. Vulnerable, of a lower intelligence, working class, who’s world is very small in that meeting someone as ‘famous’ as JK was seen as a major highlight for her. I don’t say this to be nasty about her, she seemed like a perfectly nice woman. But it’s really not normal to get Jeremy Kyle’s signature tattooed on your body especially after going on his show and losing your partner as a result.

Yes people “should have known what they were signing up for” when going on the show but the show was very persistent in recruiting people to go on, there’s an example of a poster going through it in this thread. They’d be economical with the truth and make it sound like a good idea. If you are desperate and vulnerable it’s easier to be talked into doing these kind of things so I don’t think it’s as black and white as “people should have known”. The staff on the jk show used many underhanded tactics to get people on there.

What made me laugh about the Jeremy Kyle show was how every now and then he’d do a special episode about kids with cancer or something. Of course he’d be nice as pie. I’m not really sure what the point of these episodes were. He was also a lot nicer on the odd occasion they had a middle class guest on as opposed to a regular working class guest who more often than not he’d end up yelling at and trying to provoke.

Sorry for the long post, didn’t mean to waffle on so much😱
Absolutely this ☝🏻
I’ve had a few conversations regarding this and a lot of people seem to have missed the point. Of course people knew what was going to happen. But the point (i got from it anyway) was that they didn’t do proper health/mental health checks before clearing someone as fit to go on the show. There were so many wrong doings but the main concern was that the ‘before care’ wasn’t up to standard due to desperation for guests

My friend had this friend 🙄 who went on kt

said they got paid £50. Hotel and mini bar was included. Notsure if there’s any truth in it though

They definitely got paid a fee, I remember reading that somewhere before. Weird how that wasn’t mentioned on the show. £50 is a lot of money for someone living in relative poverty and was certainly used as a lure

What’s jezza doing these days now anyway? Again I haven’t watched the documentary but I believe it’s really bad. Surely he would be cancelled?

He's on talkRADIO. Mon-Thu drive time and then Friday breakfast so he's getting prominent slots there but I think that's the furthest he'll go in the media.

I could of sworn there was an episode where Jeremy and Graham went to Africa to build a Childs refuge?

All of those filler episodes with kids cancer and child refuges were obviously just used as a way to ingratiate the audience to Jeremy. To soften them towards him so when he’s being an abso prick you can be like “well he was so nice to that kid with cancer”. There’s only one person who can get away with being a salty mare and she nails it each time and it’s Judge Judy!

I read a very recent article that Jezza will be transferring to Murdoch's upcoming new channel Talk TV. Whether that will still happen after the documentary is anyone's guess....

I went to a recording of the JK show and Kyle was sleazy, rude and arrogant. Before filming started he appeared on stage and took the P out of the camera operators’ personal lives. I regret going to the recording, but at the same time it really made me realise how toxic the show was.

During filming Graham stood around chatting to a crew member and didn’t seem interested in an upset guest at all. It was really strange.

Watched the documentary. It posed some really interesting questions but i think overall it was just a bad combination of people coming together.

- jk is clearly a prick. I can see why he would get annoyed at some guests but the footage of the way he went on with crew/audience. What a total tosser

- a lot of the guests were poor, uneducated, vunerable or looking for 5 mins of fame. Often the same kind of people who have screaming rows in the street or put huge facebook posts for all to see with all their dirty laundry

- the production staff weren't innocent. Its interesting that the crew have suddenly realised the error of their ways but were happy to just roll with it to get ahead in their careers

Overall for me it really exposed ITV for being problematic in its own right, love island's had very public suicides, and that guy who had some kind of breakdown.
For years xfactor and bgt have got by on basically taking the piss out of people too
Then you have all the in fighting at loose women. They are a horrible bunch of witches but they are constantly falling out inbetween slagging off ALL MEN
Then you have philip scofield who sounds like a completely hateful twit.
Ant mcpartlins after Saturday night takeaway parties...

The lot of them sounds bloody awful!

Having always avoided watching JK (made me very uncomfortable), I'm so glad he's getting a dose of what's been coming to him. Should have been sooner and it's a terrible shame it took a suicide to bring the Vile programme down but, oh, that man has been long overdue a shaming of his own. Nasty, egotistical little creep who belongs in the gutter. Lower than a snakes belly (and all the usual derogatory putdown cliches... there aren't enough of them to define him).
