Jeremy Kyle Death on Daytime (Channel 4 Documentary)

The most memorable JK episodes were -

The bloke who was headbutted on stage
The Mick Philpot appearance
The Gay blokes who found out they were related.
The Muslim guest who was beating his non Muslim partner.

Was'nt Dymond a compulsive liar though? I must admit, that voicemail of his bawling down the phone had me in stitches.
What the duck is wrong with you? The call the man made before he died made you laugh? Are you wrong in the head??

‘Gay’ blokes, ‘Muslim guest’

why did steves' fiancée get a tattoo of jeremys signature, just shows alot of the guests were not completely right of mind and were definitely exploited and manipulated

I don't really know if Jeremy did anything illegal so maybe wanting him to go to jail is too harsh? (or am I completely off the mark?)

I did not like the way his show ran and the way he acted and I think he had to pay the price for that. That price was that he'll almost certainly never work in TV again and his career is consigned to a B-list political radio station. At the end of the day, he was only one part of the problem.

Yeah this was strange and I didn't like it. Nobody in their right mind would get a tattoo of this guy's name. I found it incredibly disrespectful to Steve too. Why still go around with it on your shoulder? She definitely wasn't right in the mind like you say. Also, that must of been the highlight of her life, meeting Jeremy Kyle. That's sad.

I only saw the 2nd episode didn't realise there was 2.... I bet if JK was still on people would still be lapping it up sharing memes of people with 2 teeth etc how many Facebook groups were there taking the piss out of guests , didn't see any complaints while it was on for 14 years!!

Everyone is jumping on the bandwagon now acting all high and mighty. Yeah Trisha wasn't aggressive like Jeremy Kyle but she basically did the same and there have been plenty of other shows similar. Not saying its right and can see the effect it had on people and agree a lot were exploited but some of them used it as a trophy and tried to get on the show more than once.

Just so many hypocrites about

Trisha used to kill me too 😄 anyone that dared to speak about their problem, would have Trisha berating them with a tirade about her own life/problems, and how great she is for getting to where she is now. It certainly was the Trisha show

All I remember from the Trisha show is her banging on about counsellors being like shoes - that we have to try on a few pairs to get one that fits. Which I kind of agree with, but it's such a privileged bleeping thing to say. If you can afford to pick and choose your way through therapists, that's great. But if you rely on the NHS, it's not so easy.

I don’t understand why the production team was dramatised by actors? The programme has been axed what do the actual people themselves have to loose by telling their side of the story at this point?

They probably want to work in TV production again in the future.

Does anyone remember the episode where there was a male domestic abuse victim? I clearly remember the guy saying that he had to climb out the window and this making the audience laugh?

Jeremy then berated the audience for laughing by saying that they would not laugh if this was a female victim.

I sat in the JK audience once. It was an interesting experience but I have no gossip to spill. I think I saw a DNA story, lie detector and a man who admitted to hitting all his previous partners (just imagine how much JK went for him).

I'm glad you said it. I found the call really distressing to hear.
I thought it sounded rather contrived, the fake crying, he was obviously a patholical liar, plus they never said the test was wrong or that he hadn't had an affair, that was conveniently glossed over I noticed, so it clearly an accurate result.

He should have never been allowed on the show in the first place. JK was poverty porn at its absolute worst

Just watched both episodes today, I did used to watch this show at one point when I was younger and happened to be home. At some point though it started feeling a bit wrong and Jeremy started to really annoy me with the way he treated guests, so I stopped. Then I found out that lie detectors that were seen as law on the JK show are basically bollocks, so that put me off even more. How many innocent people have gone on that show, taken a ‘lie detector’ as a last resort to prove their innocence only for it to falsely come back that they were lying and had their lives ruined? It’s really disgusting and that’s before you even get to the documentary.

I’m not bothered if having watched and been entertained by this show at one point makes me a hypocrite for what I’m about to say. We live we learn. The documentary wasn’t really a surprise, the show preyed on the vulnerable, less intelligent and disadvantaged in society. They were lied to and prodded like bears at the circus so they would ‘perform’ for the cameras for people in the audience and at home to point and laugh at them. Modern day freak show and I’m glad it’s now cancelled. Jeremy Kyle is a vile man who was happy to be the face and the name of the show and have his ego stroked by it for years. I don’t doubt he knew exactly what was going on and encouraged it. It was said on the documentary that anyone who spoke up against the things that were being done would get the sack. That doesn’t mean that he’s the only one accountable but it’s easy to see why he gets the brunt of it. He was the one on camera shouting and degrading people, acting all big bollocks because he knew security would never let him get hit. He and 2 others came up with the idea for the show if I remember rightly from the documentary. The ‘aftercare team’ gave the impression that the show was out to legitimately help people but that clearly wasn’t the case.

I do think the backstage staff should be held accountable as well, they harassed, lied to and manipulated people into going on that show. I hope they all feel horrific for their contribution to this tit show of a programme. I’d imagine they probably feel a lot more remorse than Jeremy Kyle himself does. Jeremy doesn’t seem like he gives a flying rats arse about anyone but himself.

The woman who branded herself with the JK signature, I felt sad for her. She is exactly the kind of person the JK show preyed on. Vulnerable, of a lower intelligence, working class, who’s world is very small in that meeting someone as ‘famous’ as JK was seen as a major highlight for her. I don’t say this to be nasty about her, she seemed like a perfectly nice woman. But it’s really not normal to get Jeremy Kyle’s signature tattooed on your body especially after going on his show and losing your partner as a result.

Yes people “should have known what they were signing up for” when going on the show but the show was very persistent in recruiting people to go on, there’s an example of a poster going through it in this thread. They’d be economical with the truth and make it sound like a good idea. If you are desperate and vulnerable it’s easier to be talked into doing these kind of things so I don’t think it’s as black and white as “people should have known”. The staff on the jk show used many underhanded tactics to get people on there.

What made me laugh about the Jeremy Kyle show was how every now and then he’d do a special episode about kids with cancer or something. Of course he’d be nice as pie. I’m not really sure what the point of these episodes were. He was also a lot nicer on the odd occasion they had a middle class guest on as opposed to a regular working class guest who more often than not he’d end up yelling at and trying to provoke.

Sorry for the long post, didn’t mean to waffle on so much😱
