Most non verbal kids will never have conversational speech (as in full back and forth not remembered phrases or single words) it they aren't talking by 6 btw. Lots of science on it.
duck me, what a complete and utter fraud. Also he claimed to have worked with speech therapists, behaviourists and educational psychologists for hours every day for years (which is totally plausible on the NHS /s) but his wife suddenly reading to him from a phonics book and he finally learns to read himself
Yes, I was wondering how his wife had managed this amazing breakthrough that thousands of hours of work with these crack teams plus his devoted, busy mum hadn’t managed over more than a decade working with him? She gets a book of phonics and within a couple of years he’s ready for a phD?

Surely three hours of speech therapy a day, seven days a week would have been exhausting for a small child? Do the NHS even have the resources for that level of care, let alone three hour appointments on a Sunday?
No. You're lucky to get a 20 min appt twice a year and once school age even less. Things weren't that different when he was younger. Let alone the time to go and take him, it's not a nursery and requires a parent there the whole time.
Especially when you consider he was born in '85 so this would have been taking place from 88 onwards. They're not good at early intervention now, I doubt they were much better at it in the 80's/90's and suspect they were probably worse.
Someone who has an advanced copy posted a page from his upcoming book and apparently his Mum was in the waiting room while he was being abused by a therapist for not being able to speak.
No. I can confirm you get duck all on the NHS. Maybe an hour with a SALT a month if you’re lucky.
There is no way that any SALT on the NHS or otherwise would work with a child 3 hours a day 7 days a week. It’s a ridiculous thing to say.
As is saying that he was left alone with the SALT. That never happens with under 12s in NHS clinics. The parent is always in the room.
Did no one he work with ever think he was dodgy? Were they all so scared of being accused of racism?
His inability to tell the truth has duck all to do with his background and everything to do with his megalomania and delusions of grandeur. If his pupil's experience is anything to go by, he obviously didn't expect to be teaching either.

Which are, handily enough, easy to deny with classic Monroe technique of “well, I didn’t say X thing” - and when you check, they didn’t say it directly, just heavily implied it and left the audience to make the inference. It’s smart. It’s slippery as hell, but it‘s smart. It’s how people who enjoy misleading people justify it - “I didn’t LIE”.
