The gate was closing as they were about to check in?! So even if they didn’t have expired passports, they would have had to rush through security etc anyway!!

I don't think they was late checking in.

From what he said
I got they tried to check in, passport error was noticed, staff tried ringing around to sort it out, ( people with errors like this have been accepted on flights, it depends on the arrival country accepting you)
But this couldn't be sorted out in time and checkin was closing so they had to give up.

Sorry but why would airport staff spend their time trying to sort out their rooster up? It has nothing to do with where you are going either sraff protocol due to health and safety security etc if gates are closing or are closed you cannot get on the flight

I wonder if Jake the Joke tried pulling the old "do you know who I am?" card to get on the plane 🥴 this year has been a year of rejection for him so far and it's only March 🤭

Thank you! This just proves that this hotel stay and centre parks was definitely arranged a few weeks ago, after she put this story up!! They’re staying for 2 days AND it’s near London AND plenty for kids to do e.g. Xbox. Most of it’s probably grifted. They haven’t stayed anywhere else that this story could relate to. Also if the hotel was arranged last minute by “Sarah” wouldn’t fake be tagging her in the story?!

I always wonder if hotels actually benefit from letting ‘celebs’ stay in their properties free and have them advertise on their stories? Personally I’d avoid anywhere that gifts stays to cretins like the Quickendens who spend their time asking for freebies

Because they do.
my daughter works on check in. and although this new rule has been around a bit, some people don't know.
Some countries will allow people in.
but check in staff need to ring country of arrival, if agreed a letter to fly is emailed over, printed off stamped in the UK, and used alongside passport.
it is only valid for 1 trip.

gates closing is different, they didn't make the gate because, as jake said they was trying to sort things out on the phone, and the decission hadn't come back in time.

this event with the new passport rule happens more than you think.
some people manage to get lucky some don't.

Is this not why you go to the airport up to 3 hours beforehand though incase of instances like this? I know if we are traveling with suitcases and the kids we normally would to get checked in quickly and then spend £60+ on an overpriced burger king because it's part of the whole excitement for the kids 🙄😂

I thought celebs just glided into the plane via the vip entrance 😂

All could have been avoided with a ten second check of the passports weeks ago but flappy too busy with facials and shopping

yes
daughter said it isn't a 2 min thing.
you could check in 3 hours before your flight, check in staff contact arrival Country.
you then wait at oneside for the decision.
If accepted then
It depends how long arrival country send the email out, it can be a matter of 30 mins.
It could be over 3 hours which means you miss check in, as it is closed.

Daughter said it's awful especially when kids are involved.
But the rule has been in place now for a while.

This is all absolutely correct. The passport isn’t actually ‘out of date’. It just doesn’t have enough months remaining on it. Most countries state that you need 6 months remaining on your passport in order to travel, some state less.

So they could conceivably have checked in online and because the passport is still in date, assumed everything is fine. Then when they’ve got to bag drop at the airport, it’s been picked up by the check in staff there.

This happens time and time again, I used to work in an airline call centre and the number of change booking calls we used to receive due to people not knowing the rule was astonishing

Y'know if they were two busy people working hard every day, you might say it was a mistake that could happen to anyone. But they both have so much time on their hands, there's no excuse, imo. Plus isn't she supposedly a travel expert. 😉

That's supposing that any of that story is true, of course. 😁 I feel sorry for Fred either way.

It's something I will never understand tbh. If I see a hotel or a business giving a freebie to a so-called influencer, I avoid it like the plague. My logic is - why do I have to pay when they don't! 🤷‍♀️ And like you say, I don't want to stay anywhere that they are. Not just this lot but all of their ilk.
