I feel like Jack is all 'woe is me'. I know she's a person who came from extremely little and did well for herself. Her niche and her work is admirable. But come on, not everything is all about Jack, surely? I don't like JO any more than the next person but he has a long standing relationship with Channel 4, has done similar budget meals in the past and is highly experienced on TV. Is she just upset that they passed her over for an offer so she could turn them down or something? Like other posters have said, she's said she's not the best on tv and the way you conduct yourself on social media has a massive impact.
They're also trying to market this to the widest audience possible due to the pandemic and the possibility of food shortages. Jack isn't a household name to most, especially those new to cooking on a poor persons budget. Jamie is a household name to everyone, a lot of people trust him and trust that what he says is good advice and people know he can cook. Instant ratings + helping people in the community live on tins and not stockpile = best choice for Channel 4. Yet all Jack can do is whine and call him 'That Man'. You've got the balls to indirectly slate him and C4's decision, you can bloody well have the balls to name the network and chef by name.
