Recap: Much of the last thread was us mithering over the extent of her Patreon scam and bringing up other past horrors. But guest, once again, IS BACK and she's on Times Radio talking about obesity! https://www.radio-uk.co.uk/times-radio

What the bejeezus does guest know about obesity? This isn't even her specialist subject. Talk about scraping the barrel. Does this radio show have a twitter?

Her interview was tit and the honk is still in evidence. Awful anecdote about how rich people eat nice food and "council estate" people only buy beer and nappies because that's what Tesco stocks in the stores. Also LOL at vague reference to academic studies and instead of mentioning the authors says the publications "made a link" between obesity and poverty. Cringe at her talking about poverty in the developing world, with what evidence? Her decade ago white saviour tour? Odd she didn't do a "I'll be on @timesradio in 10 minutes" tweet for her fans.

Sorry to be a knob but could we get the title changed to Cyndi instead of Cindi?
You can have all my orange cremes.

Oi oi! Guest hath broken her silence! She honked on the radio about this "notorious" council estate in her borough and sneered that Tesco is responsible for all those fatties living there.

We need a Southend Frau to pop into the Tesco Express near the NOTORIOUS council estate to see whether they sell anything other than beer and nappies.

Food deserts exist. Walking distance corner shops on estates are more expensive and often don't stock fresh fruit + veg.

But wtf does guest know about any of that? I'm the depths of her poverty she still had access to a Sainsbury's.

One of the fab food people I found through guest (well, not directly) does amazing campaign work on this topic and would've been 1000% better. Once again taking the platform of people who have dedicated themselves to solving these issues (or indeed those with loved experience of them).

I will say though as a dormer obese person who has cooked some of Jack recipes (heavily adapted with actual flavour/texture added) they are generally very low calorie, so good for weight loss (less good if you have a physical job, don't know how to adapt recipes etc)

🕵 I have intel. The Tesco Express near the estate is in a petrol station forecourt. Of course it doesn't have the full range. It isn't optimised around the estate people but around the things people tend to buy in petrol stations.

ETA: As @Cucumberthunder notes, the real issue is that poorer people tend to be in food deserts, for example where the only place to get food is a petrol station. Guest doesn't understand any of this and is not an expert on the subject at all.

I know. It was the Tesco Express thing for me. One in a "notorious" council estate and the other "where all the big houses are and surrounded by a conservation area, Thorpe Bay"
I was like, witch WHAT? That's where YOU live with all your stolen money and you can have as many 2 for £12 meal deals as you like but you'd have to eat them both because your child doesn't live with you and all of your partners have LEFT.

This was all far, far too much for 8am on a Monday. [exhales deeply]

The absolute brass neck of it. The week after her grift was spectacularly revealed to so many, and she just breezes onto the radio talking absolute bollocks about something she knows absolutely nothing about. As per usual.

She named the estate. What possible need was there to do this is in interview about obesity? Why???
Why did she name it?!

Imagine how people who love there would feel being referred to in what sounds like a fairly derogatory way (I've not listened) on national radio?!

Think she's trying to badly bolster her profile as a "local" campaigner.

I wonder if she's ever been to the estate? I know there are some very deprived parts of Southend, I wonder if she just Googled that?
---
When has any supermarket anywhere failed to sell vegetables?
If it's a petrol forecourt shop as our frau-on-the-ground suggests it may not. But I'd also not refer to that as a supermarket so....

@Seaford Haggington would there be other places for people to buy fresh food in that area?

Bet she only went there when she got a ride in OHs very big car and he needed to stop for petrol.
