I wasn’t convinced it was the same set at the time so I personally wouldn’t say it was proven (god I had/have no life do I?).

I hope if they did do it, they got lots of digs at her in for doing it 😂
Either way @CabalofBolorneaise, it's excellent detective work. May not meet the burden of proof but still keeps guest on the hook for her uncountable lying and misrepresentation.

bleeping hell, I forgot that she’d called Harold’s family her “extended family”

ETA disappointed to see that the Classic French Cooking book (which she definitely has!!!) is only a CORKER, not a BANGER.
So they got this https://www.archive.is/oldest/https...r/30/jack-monroe-ribollita-recipe-tuscan-soup plus chicken drumsticks coated in el cheapo sage and onion stuffing.

Lucky peeps. I bet they were distraught when OH dumped her.

Mind when his parents came round to hers and she was all shirty about them being in the kitchen, and her carpet was so filthy that his dad offered to hoover for her.

IF the second-hand bookshop/honesty box story is true, I'm convinced it would have been a real job for the 'outlaws' to talk her out of just leaving £1 for the whole set.
"It's not one item though, is it Jack? There are 25 of them!"
Might explain why she says they chipped in.

I have ideas about what she could do next that might just about be palatable and interesting to the general public but I'm not giving her free creative and careers advice.

I'm so glad you are taking this stand - some people have said things like "Even now she could admit X, and do Y and people would support her and she'd make a decent living", and I'm afraid that (nasty old cowbag that I am), i don't want her to make a decent living - I want her properly and truly humbled for the way she has behaved towards the public, her patrons, and most of all her family - her son in particular. I don't want people giving her practical ideas (even though she's too bliddy idle to do anything about them)

She's an awful person - really awful - and I'd like to see her really pov the way she always claims she was, and see how many lightbulbs she really takes out - let her see what life is really like at the sharp end. I'd like to see her reduced to eating her own foul recipes!

But that's me.
---
---

God - she's GRIM!
Me too. It would be the most beautiful poetic justice if all her bull being called out led to her truly facing the financial ruin & hardship she's lied about for the last decade.

And then she foists a Colin Caterpillar cake on the birthday person. Who was presumably older than five. I can't decide which is worse -- a homemade JM cake abomination or a diabetic assassination tool clad in rock hard cutesy icing.

Poor OH. A nightmare.
If I had to guess, she brought that Colin from home- for herself, so it’s a pic of her own birthday cake. She makes a huge deal every birthday about how Ma Ev ALWAYS buys her a Colin, and here, that it was her “mother in law’s” (FFS they’d been together a maximum 2-3 months by this point) birthday TWINNED WITH HERS
IMG_2619.jpeg

That would have been Jack trying to make the weekend (and birthday celebration) all about her, with the “look at the quirky BIRTHDAY cake I bought for myself in M&S MY family bought me for MY BIRTHDAY and insisted I just had to bring along on this BIRTHDAY weekend!”

I also don’t believe she cooked a thing. I reckon she waited til they were just about to leave, scribbled that stuff on the board, quickly took a pic then rubbed it out immediately while everyone else was doing the hard work of packing, carrying and loading everything up into their big cars for the trip home.

I will mention this every time it comes up, she made a big deal about her own Colin then claimed she’d bought SB a Colin and made a big deal… except she didn’t. SB only got a Wiggles from Sainsbury’s. Which shows she can’t help herself lying even about what cake she’s bought but also that she must have a proper Colin but SB only gets a (by far inferior) Wiggles.

Pathetic.

I've got nothing against Colin the Caterpillar and his various impersonators. They are fine. Ready-made cakes are a treat and a lifesaver for anyone who can't make a cake, for whatever reason.

However, most people grow out of the Colin phase of their lives and become adults. IMHO, there's no functioning adult who should be so giddy about a cake aimed at littlies.

I did just come across this hybrid monstrosity online, though. Did guest ever do a budget version of this?

That prolific Eastern European cookbook author Georgia Church-Suppers has completed it, mate. And it’s an ABSOLUTE BANGER.

View attachment 2391438SS from dearest @Sideboard Bob and Tunnelly Buttons. I’m off to read that thread full of frau fiddle dee dees and Tblisi peach cobblers again. Starts here if anyone else fancies joining me and Aunty PittyPat for a delicious borscht julep. View attachment 2391465
The Georgia Church Suppers lie will always be one of my faves because it’s the perfect microcosm of Jackness - if she will lie about something so silly and pointless for attention and internet points, she will lie about bigger stuff (and does obvs.) Absolutely classic red flag of an untrustworthy person…

BIB "But it's one SET"
*flings two 50p pieces into the box and runs away with armful of books*

*extended family sighs heavily, and bungs in a fistful of fivers, before picking up remaining books"

*they catch up with guset - she is, of course, whining*

"These are too heavy . . . my bones . . . my bones are crumbly . . . "

Still can't believe (yes I can 😂) she self indulgently spent hours making that stupid pebble swirl right by the sea, while SB's dad single handedly had to keep an eye on three small children playing in the waves. Not only was she no help she actually sounded like an utter hindrance as he also had to keep herding the children away from her creative endeavours.

On my way on holiday, we just drove past Dordrecht. I was sorely tempted to stop and try and find some locals who might provide us with information about what happened there..but my OH, being German, insisted that there was no time for such frivolous acts in our schedule as we must arrive on time....perhaps on the way home!
Coincidentally, I came across this boat the other day on a little island 🍉. I wasn't driving though 'cos no cars allowed but don't worry, I had a large backpack and some cheap toffees for my epic journey. God bless the Slopstar Dordrecht and all who sail in her.

Well, that’s his own fault for ruining all her birthdays from age 22 onwards.
IMG_2622.jpeg
As if it wasn’t bad enough that her brother and his bizarrely-scented friends had ruined all her childhood ones
IMG_2623.jpeg

It’s bizarre to think that her 25th birthday ten years ago was the last time she actually had a proper full time actual job. Mind you, even that lasted a mere 4-5 months til the Guardian came calling.

As guest said about her fictional cycling
IMG_2624.jpeg

it’s ridiculous how much she’s squandered to the point where she’s now a 35 year old unemployable pariah. All her own doing too, as she sits there seething resentment at, well, everyone else.

I am not connoisseur of caterpillar cakes, so will be guided by your obvious expertise in this area. However, if she bought a Colin for herself, but a Wiggle for SB, that tells us all we need to know about the relative quality of the two cakes.
