I think she sees everything as very black and white, and to her a portrait mode that is applied automatically isn’t a filter so she’s not been caught out. Hence the weirdly haughty reply when she realises she’s wrong by everyone else’s standards. I suspect she was technically correct about the first pic being taken in portrait mode too - if you’re not at the right distance etc, it doesn’t apply the effect just takes a normal pic but she’d genuinely have taken it in the “portrait” option in her camera app.The reply to Ariel of "Disappointed you’re choosing to continue this." was rather haughty for someone who had been caught out and was being schooled.
Yes. I have the usual subjects blocked so I don't see most of that incessant drivel, it's mostly just genuine stuff. There's still an awful lot directly lifted off here though. On the hell site, one of the things I am enjoying is how much of the criticism is from accounts I’ve never seen before.
There’s more than just portrait mode in the after picture, that’s the point Ariel makes. She’s even done the old airbrushing out of the earrings.I think she sees everything as very black and white, and to her a portrait mode that is applied automatically isn’t a filter so she’s not been caught out. Not defending her in the slightest as anyone else would see that the photos were clearly taken under very different conditions, I just think it’s fascinating how Jack seems to be absolutely convinced she’s telling the truth when the rest of the world can see she’s really not.
This is actually the promotional poster for LJC's new Channel4 game show "Adversity".
Contestants are each given a crumpled fiver and have 30 seconds to dash round Bournemouth 114th Scouts' jumble sale for a complete outfit.
The winner gets to take home a flattering wide pleather belt (choice of mustard or fuchsia) from Gok Wan's 2023 "Tighten It" collection.
Pride is a fantastic film, well worth a watch (and i was involved in the strike).Oooh, that sounds like the sort of film I will actually bother to watch, thank youbless the canal, I do genuinely learn something new most times I mither here x
my favourite film about miners is always going to be the comic strip presents The Strike (which is still a decent satire today because of its observations re media classes’ representation of labour movements and its observations on how US perspectives skew how UK history is viewed). Peter Richardson playing Al Pacino playing Arthur Scargill is a stupidly funny concept, and Robbie Coltrane as greasy arrogant Hollywood exec is absolute chef’s kiss.
For a second I thought that was Honey Boo Boo’s mum cleaning up a bowl of sick.Lads, the quiche has entered Australia! My city's very own grifter/liar with questionable mothering skills and a plagiarised cookbook (Emmylou Loves) has made a quiche with not enough eggs and has neglected to blind bake the pastry.
She's not quite Jack but she's ~dire~.

Maybe I’m just turning into an old woman who shouts at clouds, but people who were born in the 90s or 2000s wearing these T shirts feels like, I dunno, not exactly cultural appropriation, but something in that ballpark. It’s this T-shirt (I love that film)![]()
Pits and Perverts: Lesbians & Gay Men Support The Miners (LGSM) 1984/8
Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners (LGSM) is an activist group that formed in solidarity with the striking miners in 1984. Mark Ashton, one of the founders, saw the struggle of the miners as the same faced by gay people fighting for their rights against a government that would not listen. LGSM...thebookishtype.co.uk
I agree. My community was destroyed by Thatcher & it irks me to say the least that somebody is wearing that T-shirt & probably has no bloody idea about it's history, & the effect it's still having.Maybe I’m just turning into an old woman who shouts at clouds, but people who were born in the 90s or 2000s wearing these T shirts feels like, I dunno, not exactly cultural appropriation, but something in that ballpark.
If she tried to present any of the above abominations in Rome, there would be a riot. Not kidding. Stick to slop, guest, it's what you do best. It’s on her website too from Jan 4 2018 but she doesn’t mention a thing about care leavers, or anyone else for that matter- other than the people in raptures on Instagram

It’s not the “ready meal” one she plunged her grubby grabbers into for the Guardian- that’s this one on her blog. Spoilering as the thought she’s inserted her grim mitt into the one on the left is giving me the heave really badly![]()
Ultimate Lasagne, 40p [VG/V/DF]
This beautiful lasagne barely needs an introduction, as when I posted it on my Instagram last month, it received rapturous demands for the recipe. Good things come to those who wait, and her…cookingonabootstrap.com

Though interestingly, she doesn’t mention fingerbanging it on her blog. I think she invented that for Guardian readers.

Agree, I really enjoyed it and spent some time in a history rabbit hole learning more about the strikes generally, having only had a basic knowledge.Pride is a fantastic film, well worth a watch (and i was involved in the strike).
There’s definitely a Dudley Dursley vibe going on..How the merry heck is a lasagne 'irreverent'?

Babe, samex
She puts me in mind of a school bully surrounded by their hangers on, who are only there because they are all equally terrified not to do her bidding.
I have no evidence for this![]()
I don't care how early it is....thread title pleaseIt was slop that tasted like generous amounts of black pepper.
