Bit of a ramble here but I promise it does relate to Jack's current chaos.
One of the things that's bothered me in recent days is the sheer volume of people (of which Jack was one) saying things like "isn't the Queen amazing for working right up until her death?" because I don't find that amazing at all, I find it horrifying. I know the Queen's job that day wasn't exactly what you'd consider hard labour, but still- no one should feel that they can't stop working
right up until their actual death. Celebrating that isn't at all in keeping with socialism, it's a capitalist mentality because it feeds right in to the "if she could work in that condition then no one has an excuse for needing time off" type of bullshit that is used to make people feel guilty for not being at work 100 hours a week.
This is very similar to how Jack's "feed a family for £20" cosplaying feeds in to narratives that everyone should be able to live this frugally and makes people feel guilty for not being able to do it. Jack is constantly feeding in to the exact narratives that she claims to be opposed to and it's so frustrating. Her critical thinking skills are so poor and she's still stuck at her sixth form level politics of "Tories are bad and if you're not a Tory you're a socialist."
Gosh it's far too late for me to be getting this serious. I'm going to go and look at the Georgia Church Suppers screenshots again to help cheer myself off before I go to sleep
