Q: Why are Jack Monroe's nails so black?

She has just scratched herself.

When she met the Superdrug bigwigs in Croydon that time, I guess they didn't look too closely at her nails! Taking hygiene tips off her with the state of her house the way it is. Sorry but I'm on my second bout of 🦉🤣 today x
Shall we place bets on just how long this collab's going to last before it softly, gently, gets wiped from history like all her other ones?

I still don't get Jack's role for that Superdrug thing. Surely people don't need advice on keeping costs down re hygiene. Don't you just purchase the items you can afford?
What exactly is she being paid for? I read the waffle about three times and am still no nearer. But maybe I'm wrong and the Poverty Princess can actually be useful 😂

1) Superdrug? Missed a chance to do that pushing down the Google ranking thing with Boots there.
2) I love that Tom loves facts <one of us.gif>

Proper lolling at the thought of her giving out "shop smart" tips when she can't even manage her own money.

Plus, we never ONCE saw her include hygiene or beauty products in her imaginary £20 shops.

Does NO ONE do their due diligence these days?!

Wtf is she going to tell people to do anyway? Buy cheaper soap? Thanks for that St Jack.

Failure to meet contractual obligations in 3, 2, 1...
I must say it's quite distasteful during a cost of living crisis to have 'too posh to wash' white middle class lady Jack lecturing the poor about personal hygiene. I think Jack might be as well to take the money and STFU.

Oh god she's going to be trotting out the 'using a metro as a sanitary pad' ad nauseum isn't she?

Hang on - so she is there to advise how to keep costs down on hygiene and personal care routines. Can you imagine the furore if someone like Lee Anderson suggested poor people needed advising on their personal hygiene?
ETA I don't think I'd take personal care tips from someone who eats pot noodle in bed and doesn't brush their teeth.
She always looks grubby. Keep your costs down by not washing? No thanks.

Quite. Can't she see the hypocrisy? She's been banging on about how the poors have always had to be canny with money, and how dare white rich people think they know best.
So she takes a job advising the poors how to wash or something like that.

She's going to patronise the poor by shaming them for not buying the cheapest possible products when sometimes that can be a false economy. Still Jack is getting paid and that's all that matters.

I wonder if Superdrug are going to bring out Jack’s range of Saxo bathsalts and slowcooker showergel.

But only jack is allowed to speak directly to the poor. If anyone else does it they're an insensitive wick who deserves a pile on!

You'd think advising people how to keep clean would be more insulting than teaching them how to cook.
