It never fails to stew my tea when I see those books shelved in order of...colour. #libraryfrau

This is just insanity, is she using cooking with wine as some kind of flex as to how bad an alcoholic she was? You cook the alcohol off you bleeping berk. And yes, of course for abstinence for any reason I understand why you wouldn’t use it but stop trying to elevenerife your fabricated problems with coq-au-vin. God she’s exhausting.
I am not an alcoholic and I don't cook with stock pots or alcohol. I used regular stock cubes or the juices from meat. Am I cooking wrong?!

Maybe this is where she keeps her stock of bedroom tinned fish for those delicious midnight 4am snacks.

Why is there a random pair of shoes on a high shelf!?

This reminds me of when you stay at your gran’s house and you have to sleep on an air bed in the spare room, which has shelves of dusty old Reader’s Digest books and knitting magazines from 1974.

She’s probably sleeping in the hallway/nook because she’s hoarded the duck out of the bedrooms. Wasn’t it just a few months ago she was doing a cringe Changing Rooms style sped up video in her spare bedroom?

Yes! At my grandma’s it was Family Circle magazine. I loved the cake photos.

The kitchen is worrying me. It looks greasy. Is it or is it just me. My kitchen gets cleaned daily. I must admit the tops of my cupboards need doing but they don't feel as bad as the shot of that kitchen.

Had a massive grunk, so forgive some call backs to now far-gone posts.

@Falkor oh God, I sympathise about the automatic bin; Mr Owl also purchased one that he loves more than me. I am expecting it to become sentient soon.

Her kitchen is deranged. Actually deranged. Also "weak wall" - get in the bin!

I've also got so many questions about the Pile o' Beige she's made and her subsequent recommendations:
  • Why does she have to be so mental about putting eleventy billion things in every recipe?
  • Why buy cream cheese instead of cream or creme fraiche?
  • Why is there honey?
  • Has she heard of an onion?
  • Why is she buying alcohol-free wine to cook with? It's essentially juice! I cook with cheap alcohol all the time but in a pinch, stock and a couple of tablespoons of white wine or apple cider vinegar do the job just fine.
  • Why is she telling people to put sparkling water in a casserole as a cider replacement for "effervescence"? That is not how carbonation works?
