That's what I thought, Lanie, centring indispensable Jack in the thick of the action again. Leaving out the casual sexism, it conjures up the notion of someone sticking their nose in where it doesn't belong, and assuming a role that isn't theirs to take. I certainly wouldn't think it was any sort of compliment if someone said it about me.
