I don't remember trick or treating being a thing when I was a kid. It's only just getting to be something here now - normally when a gang of kids turns up at your door, it means you're getting robbed tbh, so it tends to be people posting on local FB groups that their house is participating. The shopping centre always does a trick or treat trail for the kids, which is a fun thing for them to do, and they end up with loads of sweets.

Also, she didn't actually say it was this year when she said 2021 was a no spend year. She could have been talking about any other year when she said 'this year'
And when Jack says she bought something in Wilko for thirty five quid, it doesn't mean she spent money in her no spend year that may or may not be this year or 2021.
I don't want to spoil Showtrial, but there is a line in the second episode that will make everyone on this thread hoot and fizz.
She could be just racking up a load of debt on a credit card with a view to pay it off next year. Jackanomics say that if she doesn't pay for it this year it doesn't count.
Maybe she can send it off to Waitrose for her, given that she's forever banging on about it being too far to walk.
