They have articles on the Breakdown website “the best post-lockdown subscription boxes” do me a favour. Using a trendy font and nice pictures doesn’t paper the content cracks.
I’m so glad I’m Gen X

I have one Sideboard.
It was free from the book of the face. A man friend collected it with me. Refused any cash, said I could buy him a pint. He then sent me several flirty messages. He has a long-term girlfriend.
Anyway, it's a lovely sideboard, I added new KNOBS.
Even more off topic: when I was a kid I thought that sideburns were called sideboards.
You don't get a good sideburn anymore, hipsters are so half arsed.

If we are talking thread titles, is anyone talented enough to take Switchstreetz's lead and pen a #196 SHE SHAN'TY to mark the anniversary on Thursday?

Oh bleddy Nora. Her clever all-knowing expression. Trying to show exasperation and wisdom at the same time. She really called everyone's bluff with that pic and email address intel didn't she.
How has she not grasped the anonymity factor of anonymous fora yet?
Am I to assume that during my brief self imposed jack break there is still no chaos?
Midweek full moon coming up..

Yet point out their grifting and shilling and holes in their stories and you are a bully. As you say thank goodness for Tattle. Otherwise the public at large just see wee snippets of stuff presented to them by these people and don't often join the dots. Therefore Jack is poor and an activist (neither true as far as I can see). Hattie needs free holidays for some reason as she can't work. Yes obviously people can be poor and have mental and physical problems, but they shouldn't take advantage of other people's kindness and goodwill by playing victim to give themselves quite the cushy life.

Grace, the Great Escaper, on her way home from a walk she took herself on! that extra fence posts cemented in and a lock on the paddock gate continues to keep her in . Bits of fur were coming out of her in my hand today.

What makes me laugh is would they do something for free . Imagine hey pet we really need you to do a job, you will need staff ( and pay them) ok cool. Now the thing is, it will be entirely unpaid from our end but we will send you snaps.

Not bloody likely they would refuse to do anything if i didnt line their pockets well.

Morning all, now we've turned into the Now That’s What I Call Jack thread, thought I'd revisit the purple prose that is the Top Tips book:

Paid by the word, eh?

As part of my "Small Creative Business", I occasionally get asked to donate items to charity auctions. It's not a wholly selfless act - the organisers usually promote my website and Instagram, and that's great publicity for me, as well as supporting the charity, and it's such a great way to help raise money. I've had some real shockers in the past tho:

I gave what I considered to be one of my best pieces to a friend who was running an auction for a small charity she was the treasurer of, and when I went along to the auction, my work wasn't there. When I queried it, she said, "Oh we liked it so much we kept it but made a donation to the charity". Naturally she wouldn't tell me how much, and because my work wasn't on show I lost out on all the publicity.

On another occasion I took a long taxi trip with a piece, and when I got the charity office was told buy the organiser to "sling it on the pile", and he didn't look up from his phone or say thanks.

Another donation was made to a person raising money for a child needing medical care. Mine sold for £350, and the total raised was in the tens of thousands, then the organiser fucked off to Greece with all the dosh.

It's such a shame, because the good feelings I get from helping to raise money are just...tarnished...by shitty stuff like that, and put me off doing it again.

I just don't get the absolute nerve of people begging for holidays and stuff. These idiots (Instagrammers) aren't even trying to raise money for anything worthwhile. - just for themselves. I'm glad that businesses don't feel they have to bend over backwards for some nobody to say their holiday was "Fabulous, Guys!!!"

Rant. Over.

I actively avoid companies that engage heavily with influencers. Isle of Wight tomatoes springs to mind along with those awful Lucy and Yuk jumpsuits. I am still recovering from the sea of gifted paeonies on Insta last year.

I tried Gousto boxes for the first time recently and one of their curry kits uses clotted cream (!!) When I opened the box, my first thought was that jack had been given a job on their production line and that she must have been responsible for this heinous culinary assault on my home soil.

Incase anyone is curious I made said curry with said clotted cream and it was edible but I would never choose to eat it again.
Back to my Grunk, Love you cabal

View attachment 628301I thought Jack had invaded the BBC good food Facebook group with that comment! And I’m baffled at the idea of putting clotted cream in a curry as the first suggestion!

Ooh, lunar chaos! I shan't be having an iced treat. It's really cold here so I'm going to have a strawberry tea and possibly wear my knitted Viking beanie.
