My nana got pretty angry when an Aunt used instant mash for a traditional Patè Chinois, to be fair Nana was 4 foot 6 of angry anyway.

The GDPR stuff is wild, can’t believe she would be so careless. Except what am I saying, of course I can.

Seeing that public thank you to a customer would really put me off buying from her, I like to believe no humans are involved in my online purchases especially the shameful ones.

Yeah but my Anan could cook and we were all scared of her, haha! Not like Yack.
No sorry I didn't mean your nan couldn't cook just that like our smol one she is 4 ft of anger. Apologies to your dear Nana for the implication.

Valencians aren't Catalan, they're Valencian. They just speak the same language (and the rice zone extends into Catalunya).

The outrage is very, very real, I can assure you. I've been sending the photo to my Valencian friends this morning, and I may have ruined a few people's days.

I recall at the time she announced Jack Monroe’s Little Book of Poverty Porn some of the academics on the thread were all “um, ethical clearance?????” and one of the main rules of the ethics department is that it’s really clear to all interviewees or whoever that they can withdraw their information at any point in the study. I’m writing up and one of my case studies pulled their permission and it’s an absolute pisser but tough shit in the eyes of the ethics team. Jack’s huffy treatment - and suggested harassment via DMs! - of someone who gave information in good faith (that Jack will profit from) is shittier than shit. She should have her honorary doctorates pulled. It’s unfortunate that the exchange is hidden away in her mentions because it’s exceptionally bad behaviour.

thankyou! But alas I can never go to Valencia and enjoy their delicious food.

I knew some lovely Valencians here years ago, and I used to go to parties at their house, until I commented that their flag, which they had hung on the wall, looked really jolly, like a circus tent.

I don't think she ever intended to use the info for anything but padding her own poverty story. Just conjecture, m'lud, but what if she gathered the stories, all 68k of them lol, just to make sure her own guff was more authentic and matched up properly. Unfortunately the smol pixie had been ranting for a few year already and this new info became jarring in her origin story and now we have this messy, lying fool to laugh at daily.

She is self serving. She doesn't care about anyone else but herself.

and it continued to be a "temporary landing page" until the day the godaddy free trial ended

Oh god I’ve upset the Catalan, Catalonions? Is this an all thumbs are fingers but not all fingers are thumbs situation or will I be turned away at the border?

We'll let you in as long as you don't smuggle in any of Jack's food!

Hmmmm I seem to remember THAT MAN getting into a bit of a hoo haa over paella. Weren't Valencians horribly offended that he'd bastardised the dish by putting chorizo in it? Shouldn't a certain smol pixie be fully aware of this given how vocal she is about his appropriation of jollof rice? Shouldn't said smol pixie be ashamed that not only did she make an even LESS authentic version (by...baking it?? ), she's made it look like a pile of vomit?

A cursory search reveals this... uh oh

Hmmm, Hasn't Jack mentioned riff/riffing in some of her recipes.

Not like her to be copying and not giving credit.

Surely this made her doubly angry that That Man also dared to appropriate traditional Southend Pier cuisine. The audacity!
