She’s a bit late to the party (as always lol) but her age group graduated into a recession, there was huuuge graduate unemployment and it was a real thingTM at the time, I was just entering uni and remember being shooketh at it. By 2012/3 it was on the mend, but the idea of working service jobs with a degree was a very of that time problem, imagine a lot of the MC parents who funded these degrees being aghast their baby was having to work in Costa. At least her core audience has always remained the same

ETA - this is brief but that’s not me saying I think ppl w degrees shouldn’t be working service jobs. But that’s an essay we’d all be in agreement w so won’t write xx

Yup, I graduated in 2008 and went back to my weekend at M&S for a few month and then was cabin crew for a few years until things settled and I could use my degree.

Lot of shelf stacking, lot of shagging. Great couple of years really.

It’s nice to see THAT MAN get involved because he’s been campaigning for better nutrition for kids throughout his entire career. It makes sense for him to be part of the movement.

I used to hate him because they made us analyse his dialect and language in English Lang at school and they kept replaying this video of him saying “a bit woo, a bit wah, a bit bent”. It got to the point where I would howl and wail and claw at the walls whenever I had to hear his voice.

But I’ve been very impressed with how helpful he’s been over the lockdown and in particular his “7 ways” book which is full of real gems, proper food.

Maybe Jack should take a leaf out of his book and do something actually useful like produce the recipe books we were promised, or even an e-book with optional donation (TO CHARITY) for food voucher meal plans. Don’t worry Jackie luv you can steal my idea, I’ll let you pretend you came up with it yourself.

Nah, the right things. Not voting and actively voting against the systemic changes that would start to solve a lot of her issues. I’ve been a teacher since 1998, and was a new mum in 2006 and 2008- things just weren’t as bad under a socialist government. Sure Start, proper funding for schools, EMA, (and social care- I’m married to a social worker) European protections in human rights. Don’t get me wrong, Labour fucked up a lot of things (public sector pensions, tuition fees, war in Iraq...) but if you don’t vote in the least bad option you get.......this.

I have only just watched that wierd little Feed Children video or whatever it was.
Honestly. Her delivery is appalling. Eyes darting nervously and that monotone. Then it seems all of a sudden she reads on her autocue "{{{Note to self - Jack - THIS BIT IS WHERE YOU SHOULD SOUND ANGRY}}} and she for no obvious reason suddenly gets shouty.
I can't imagine this was her only attempt and this was the best?

It was quite obvious that she had an auto cue just above the camera and she was just reading it. Very few looks down the actual camera to make eye contact with the audience. She’s just not someone who is cut out for public speaking or being on tv. There’s no charisma/warmth. As shit as it is, sometimes you just need to realise that perhaps the “job” you so eagerly want is just not for you.

I just typed into Google 'How to apply for a Coronavirus Winter Grant' and numerous things came up with how to apply and what it is for. Why in the name of all that is holy do people ask Jack? Who doesn't know. I just don't get it.
And yes there is a champagne bar in the House of Commons. Literally who fucking cares. Most people are old and wise enough to realise life is just not bloody fair and other people have nice things.
