About to start an epic grunka. Election, life and general 2.0 overload has done me in.
We watched a programme on all4 the other day with Vicky McClure called My name is Nicola. It was all about coercive control and gaslighting. It was horrendous to watch but showed how these behaviours start off as seemingly inconsequential but quickly escalate to something far more sinister and dangerous.
I cannot reconcile how when she is tweeting about something serious (election, food banks, her mental state) she can then move to something flippant
at the drop of a hat.

How long do we think Louisa will last? I don’t think very long. And is this maybe not a bit confusing for the son? There is NO way that cat was outside stressed and cold. Fur is practically gleaming. And if you truly loved your cat and it was stressed af, you would feed it first and get it settled before taking bloody photos for your pay pigs on Twitter.

Right, so on Jack's ridiculous fridge list, why is the second sticker-concealed person allowed to come to the bungalow for 'formal childcare'? Has SB got a nanny?! How many staff does she employ? Is this bungalow actually Downton flipping Abbey?
The only other thing I can think of is it's Caroline, and they're fibbing to HMRC about what her actual role is because as an admin she could and should be working from home but Jack wants her there in person?

I'm sure it's Caroline, in blog posts from last year she was always at the crappy bungalow. Given that Jack only has one other friend (Vix), there's a 50% chance we're right.
I have no sympathy for Louisa in whatever ensues. She had enough red flags. I think she is as bad as Cack.

I've been feeling a bit uncomfortable with some of the comments about Louisa being stupid to go back to Jack, that she knows what she's like, that she is an intelligent woman with a high powered job so it's her own fault.
I realise that this is because I have been in a similar situation (though my narc was way more covert and I wasted 6 years trying to help him) so it is triggering to me. It may not be what is going on in this situation at all, but it does look very similar.

It also says he would be part of a childcare bubble, which indicates other children being cared for at the same time? And next to the covered person's name, says they will be socialising outdoors with one other person plus "children", so multiple.
Either way it's a whole load more crossover mixing isn't it.
Having read that article, I agree that it is not as simple as just getting the hell out. Love is not like a switch that you just turn off. I just wished Louisa had found someone else whilst they were on a break.

Marcus Rashford has just announced his MBE. Yay! He thoroughly deserves it and Jack is seething.
She claims 'we' knew about it and has been dying to tell people.

If it is true and she was confided in (she wasn't) then saying she knew could get MR in serious tit. You aren't allowed to tell anyone. A girl at work got one and only told her husband.

I may be stepping out of line here, but isn’t it slightly elitist to suggest that just because someone has managed to climb their own particular career ladder they should be more self-aware and have greater levels of emotional intelligence than someone who say, has not reached the giddy heights of head of news.

If this is what is going on and Louisa is unaware (as I was, and I'm middle aged with a marriage under my belt) it will be very difficult for her to take action.
I only realised very gradually and after a counsellor at my place of work gently but persistently showed me what was actually happening. Even then I went back to him for another 3 months where I helped him through the death of a parent. I didn't tell any of my friends as they all hated him because they could see him clearly. I felt ashamed and like they would be fed up of me being so weak - I am not a weak person.
It isn't a normal situation where someone is just a bit of a dick. It's a war you don't even know you are fighting until it is too late.
I'm a year out of that situation now with no contact and my ex partner doesn't know where I am. I still struggle with the idea of dating other people and I feel like a shell of the person I was previously.
I hope Louisa has someone that has knowledge of this that can help her with what looks like a very unhealthy cycle. Because it won't get better.
