He didn't really address why he's living in London when he doesn't have a job - he completely diverts to calling YouTube his job, like that's the answer. You don't need to be in London to be a YouTuber, and you need to be doing something in order to vlog, well, anything. So, the question still remains: why does he live in London?

OMG you guys he literally deleted ALL of his videos and tweets about Oxford/rejection... on the 3rd Feb 2021 his social blade lists a loss of 800k or so views - which I reckon is the two Oxford rejection videos. I'm thinking he didn't get in for the MA (his third rejection) and was so frustrated he just wanted to cut the 'reject' tag he'd earnt himself. Why is he being so shady about it all and trying to obscure the truth?

His fashion sense is shocking...and he can't get flattering angles either

Also, like carrie hope fletcher he is trying way too hard to be cool
Congratulations. Your post was screenshotted and posted by Jack himself 😂
I’ll never understand why “influencers” check their own threads? This is a gossip forum so of course there will be people saying he looks bad 🤷🏼‍♀️
Don’t take it so personally Jacky

Hi Jack! Maybe you wouldn't get your knickers in this much of a twist if you were so sure that you were doing nothing wrong. It's weird that you're getting very defensive over something you seem to think of as a non-issue.

These "influencers" and their entitlement to uninterrupted adoration amazes me. I was pleasantly surprised by his desire to have an actual job and have his Youtube on the side as a hobby, thinking him to be humble enough to not get dizzy over his subscriber count but I see that the ego and arrogance is running wild already. The fact that he is offended because people rightfully said he shouldn't have been fiddling with his mask in a bookshop tells it all.

Edit/Addition: Regarding his Oxford rejection - it sucks, it really does and I feel for him. He's wanted Oxford for a long time and probably felt like going to Durham felt like settling. (The fact that I have used Durham and settling in the same sentence is barmy but bear with.) However, if I remember correctly, he's said in his rejection video that by getting accepted, he was going to "show them" and "prove them wrong". That sounds like an awful motive to try for a school. I know it's hard to deal with the fact that for some reason or another you weren't the right person for something but if Oxford sensed that Jack was driven mostly by his desire to show them how wrong they were to not accept him for his undergrad degree, I doubt they were convinced that he would be the right person for the few spots in the course.

Thank you so much for this! I'm really fortunate to have attended a private school (though an average one). The state schools in my area aren't very good so my parents made an enormous sacrifice for my education (I am so, so grateful to them!). I was also really lucky to get a scholarship/ additional financial assistance in my sixth form years.
It annoys me when some studytubers, who went to even better schools than me for free, present themselves as disadvantaged.

Also I can confirm that Jack's sixth form college actually looks even fancier than my private school, so I have no idea what he's on about. In fact, if I didn't know any better, I'd have thought it was a private school! On the website of his college there's a virtual tour, so here's some images from that.
Fuck me! He wants to spend some time in some temporary classrooms that are in school for over 20 years in the middle of winter!

I remember someone mentioning this (as mere speculation) that he might be a research assistant for Ali Abdaal's book. I guess they are right. Ali's PA uploaded a video where she and the rest of Ali's team (with Ali, of course) were on Zoom and Jack was there too.

Thing is a lot of youtubers think their audience is into them, whereas more often than not its their niche, and their take on that niche, that appeals. No real interest in them outside of that. Plus as people grow they grow out of things and people

YouTube isnt really forever unless you're very lucky.

Sorry to make this about me for a second, but I have grandparents in Germany who I was planning to visit in September, for the first time in 3 years

then Covid happened so obviously I cancelled the plans, seeing these “influencers” swanning about all over Europe whilst they apparently forget there’s a pandemic happening is making me so fckin angry I can’t

He has more than enough $$ for books..so shouldn't it be the opposite way around? Like giveaways? No one does these anymore, but the audacity of asking for books when PO boxes are for letters..
Cue the "I read my followers' books for a week!"
Right... Like I'm just wondering who the hell asked to send him books? Would never cross my mind to buy someone who makes money off of social media a book. Like dude you're a studytuber, your audience is predominantly made up of students - you do the math. He could have just said that he opened a PO box in case anyone wants to send him mail.

Exactly, this is no different to his main channel content. I wonder if it's that he's trying to make it as an influencer so having more subscribers across two channels looks better or something.

not jack trying to act poor on tiktok after flaunting his Armani watch on Instagram 🙄
It's tone deaf stuff like this where I'm just like... stop, seriously. Either own up to being hugely privileged and well-off or don't talk about it at all. Please, please, stop complaining about having no money lol like read the room.

I discovered him just recently, during his booktube era and I enjoy his new book videos. His study videos are cringy but looking back at his old videos and comparing them with the current ones, he seems to be more mature now.
You guys discussed his sexuality very early on in this thread and I didn't see any discussion about him being bisexual, which is probably the case with his sexuality. I don't know what you think but as another bi guy, it seems obvious to me.
Usually speculation gets shut down because people on this website throw out the accusations of sexuality almost like an insult. I know I've told multiple people that as a queer person it upsets me when straight members of this website go "well he's OBVIOUSLY gay" in reference to a man who is slightly effeminate.

his 'team' ?

also, whatever's gone on behind the scenes, slagging off one of your suppliers or business partners so publically and aggressively is not very professional or a great idea. I think he has a lot to learn about business and PR.

uni was a different experience 20/30 years ago, what does it matter if your parents went or not? More to the point, who doesn’t know what to “expect” at uni, like I’m struggling to understand what he thought was going to happen that’s so unexpected that he had to write a whole ass book about it 💀 you move away from home and google shit like how long to boil an egg and what setting to put the washing machine on, nobody needs a book for that

His tweet was so passive aggressive, yeah it’s not as bad as having a party or not wearing a mask at all, but we’re in a pandemic, people have a right to be concerned. Also note the way he ignored his lack of social distancing with eve cornwell and the criticism about unite students.

Why is he always out to prove his ‘haters’ wrong? Like that teacher from school years ago, now it’s someone from an anonymous forum that literally doesn’t actually matter to his life.

Screams insecurity to me 🤷‍♀️

Jack seems to have totally missed the memo that employers do look at one's social media before hiring them and as he's technically a public figure, there's even more info on him than most folks. I can't imagine that the nonstop talk about rejection from Oxford and his habit of procrastination which he publicly broadcasted on his channel (24 hours for a dissertation?) will do him any favours in the long run.

Some of his earlier content was fine but I can see why he's not liked on here.

Slightly off topic but Vee Kativhu just posted on her Instagram that she made 26k over the last 3(!) months.
If Jack‘s earning anything close to that it is no wonder he can afford his flat in london (and on top a trip to Berlin which is a whole other story. WHY TRAVEL DURING A PANDEMIC?! Especially since Berlin‘s one of the worst places for Covid in Germany rn).

I'm very happy for Ibz! He has come a long way and now he's going to be a postgraduate at Oxford, however, I'd like to ask a question
I'm not from the UK (as you can tell from my broken English haha) and I don't really know how the applications for Oxbridge work, but I was wondering...how is it possible that Ibz, after years of bashing Oxford, got a place, and Jack, because of doing "a dissertation in 24h", doesn't deserve a place? Didn't you say that the Unis check their prospective students' social media? Did Ibz got a place due to his critical point of views?
I don't mean to excuse Jack's behavior, it's just curiosity about how the applications process work!

By the way, I saw this comment and I laughed out loud haha:
It’s a common joke for Cambridge students to say Oxford is inferior, I don’t think Ibz had any serious criticisms of Oxford as a uni. Just some Oxbridge rivalry banter.

You know what Jack? Not social distancing during a pandemic (and broadcasting that you're not all over social media) is "so fucking lame".
