Are they down? I’d have thought they’d be up this year, with people taking a year out last year etc... although I kind of doubt he’d take them down if he got in, surely that’s a reason to leave them up like “look! I was rejected twice but third time lucky!” I’m sure he’d find one of his awful puns to make a joke about itYeh I hope he hasn't got in because we all know he'll be insufferable but honestly I guess he might have taken them down because he did get in?Wouldn't be surprised as Oxbridge applications are right down because of the pandemic so less competition than last year and they still want those tuition fees...

He says the supermarket was the only place he went from 25th Dec to when he tested positive - which was 14 days. So the more likely situation was that he caught it if he mixed at Christmas since symptoms can start up to two weeks after? Not that I'm particularly judging him if he did see family since a Christmas bubble was allowed, but he can't really say he definitively caught it at Aldi or whatever.

That's a lot of excuses! He must feel very under pressure to do... well... anything on his channel.
I dont disagree at all, but just to say friends who still work at unis reported new students only wanting to keep their place and attend if nothing was on campus for at least the first term so I think uni students are just as split as the rest of the country.
Personally I liked finishing my degree online but I can see how it wouldnt be for everyone especially first years wanting the uni experience

I see what you mean about the finer points of the rules (like keeping track of whether you need a mask in a cinema at present), but everyone should know that you still need to keep your distance from people outside your support bubble. And your support bubble is also quite simple - who you live with, optionally plus one person who lives alone.
That's the simplest part of the rules, imo, so nobody should plead ignorance to that particular aspect.
Never in my life met a camp guy that is straight. Then again, I'm from Glasgow and there is a paucity of camp men here. My university tutorials are just mostly "lad" types. Nobody with even a hint of flamboyance.

Tbf I live alone and I can't imagine living with someone during a pandemic. Yes there's the odd moment of loneliness but generally I'm glad I don't have someone constantly there 24/7

Not meaning to defend him but I think in some cases it's not meaning to break rules, but people no longer know what they are. I get social distancing and the basics but my family and I were saying we have lost track of who we are and arent allowed to see. Are bubbles still a thing? if so that contradicts the government wanting people back to work and also eating out etc. A recent study found it's gone from over 90% of people knowing the rules to something like 20 or 30%.
I think that's a perfect word. He clearly has no back up plan. He was going to just carry on as a youtuber but that isnt really a long term career plan, very few can make it big and also what happens when YouTube is replaced by something else, or evoles. His youtube niche is very narrow and there wont be relevant for much longer. To an employer I dont really know what he has to offer, english (especially literature) is a bit of a broad degree and not especially practical. Sure he has social media experience but a business is likely going to want a marketing or social media student rather than just someone with a narrow youtube channel
In fairness he isn't wrong, but yeah double standard yet again. He and Carrie Hope Fletcher share many similarities
