Several Berlin district‘s are in the top 10 for highest cases in Germany. People from there even have to quarantine when going to certain other cities within Germany
Well eve and jade (and now Jack) are going about everywhere with no thought about the pandemic. Just shows how these “influencers” have no regard for rules and think they are above the law

you know in his vlog where he mentioned being poorly rated in the other studytuber's video/not getting on well with Holly, he also referred to a video that was mean about him being made that ruined his day - does anyone know what that one was? i think it was separate to the one where he was rated a 'c' by Dylan above
Didn’t Ibz Mo shade him a bit in his Harvard rejection video?

Does Jack give anyone else massive Narcissist vibes? He really can’t take even mild criticism well.

I wonder why he actually wants to do a masters degree - because studying is a massive part of his brand? Because he wants to prolong entering work for as long as possible?
I think a lot of these studytubers will do masters just to prolong their YouTube careers tbh.

Despite not getting onto a masters... he’s a master of putting responsibility of his mismatched planner as far away from him as possible

He’s literally selling his sloppy seconds planners...

Why is he making such a big deal about living alone? All the stuff about how he can’t look after plants, doesn’t do the washing up, can’t cook for himself etc - it doesn’t make sense because he’s been a student living on his own for the last three years?! Jack seems to base his own personality on being “chaotic” but he’s 21 and acts like a child. Needs to grow the fuck up and just act like an adult without making a huge show about shit that people do every day 🙄

I've worked it out!

You know how Jack said he wasn't doing a masters (not that he didn't apply) and that he hadn't been rejected by Oxford and it just sounded like weird wording??

Astrid's tweet helped me realise what happened:

I'm 99% sure he did apply but was waitlisted.

I know its speculation but: he unlisted his vids at the time the offers / waitlist / rejections came out and he was careful not to say that he didn't apply so I am so sure this is what happened.
Didn’t someone say that he unlisted the videos earlier this year, though? It just happened to be discovered here around the time decisions came out, but someone said they’d been unlisted for weeks.

Idk, I’m inclined to believe him. In a Q&A video last year he said he wasn’t bothering with master’s applications. Also, if he was waitlisted why would he say he isn’t doing a master’s at all - wouldn’t he wait to see the outcome of the waitlist?

Also he needs to stop with the tweets where he “addresses” stuff that have only been spoken about on here lol.

Ok so the course he applied for is "World Literatures" at quite a white university, as a male. I don't mean to make this so sjw but can't he understand why he might not have got the place? Isn't it time that other voices should be heard?

Edit: ngl him getting so defensive about me asking a question has really irritated me all morning. I guess I am no less petty than him.

Slightly more on topic I wish Jack would accept the privilege he has rather than trying to make out he was underprivileged. For example bringing awareness to charities that help widen participation, or similar - especially as he’s so set on the disadvantage of being first gen
This this this

Stop going on about the fact you're 1st gen and went to a state school. 95% of the UK population went to state schools, it doesn't mean you're poor.

This is so tone deaf. So many people will be spending Christmas alone this year/stuck in another country and would do anything to see family. You don’t realise how lucky you are Jack.
Found this tone deaf and rude af as well. If you wanted solitude on Christmas day, maybe you should have stayed in London in your flat, Jack. I don't care that he's joking or being ironic. So many people couldn't spend time with their loved ones this year due to illness, loss, travel bans or safety concerns. Do any of these kids do something other than check their stats on social media, and read some news? Smh.

It‘s just a stupid try to re-brand himself when he has already started that process on his main channel

It seems odd to me to describe a degree as a ‘service’ you are paying for. I don’t want to get into semantics, but I am concerned about the emphasis on students as consumers - rather than being equipped with the tools for independent learning - and the marketisation of education in recent years, perhaps inevitably with higher tuition fees.

I think that if you put your life online and make a living from it, it’s inevitable that people will ask questions and to suggest otherwise is quite pretentious. I don’t understand why he says he had taken steps away from social media when this is clearly not the case: without it, nobody would know him.

It’s probably not for me to question someone’s intentions, but it seems to me that a lot of influencers make a platform for themselves by sharing their life online and then moan something chronic when people ask questions or hold them to account.

(Rant over!)

I would guess it is because Oxford are traditionally seen as stronger in literature/humanities whereas Cambridge are known for their STEM/maths in particular. Jade probably opted for Oxford because of the natural sciences course at Cambridge not suiting her, but it explains why Eve Bennett, Ruby and Jack would opt for Oxford if they were looking for the highest prestige factor
It's his choice, but I always found the fixation with Oxford rather sad when there are so many great postgrad programs out there.

I am not sure what literary era he's going for, but Oxford is not great if you want to study more contemporary literature, which he seems interested in. I did an MPhil in American Literature at Cambridge and now I'm doing a PhD in the same area, and I didn't even bother with Oxford, considering contemporary and American are not their strongest areas. It just seems like he can't let that dream go, when I think he could thrive in a more modern environment.

It wasn't me that said it but I did agree (worked in admissions for years), reapplying again isn't a good look, unless (as stated) you have actively done something to improve on your last application. Just reapplying without improving yourself/your application will not do you any favours.

I can't speak for Oxford but yes university systems do match previous records as it picks up names and date of births and merge. Well some do anyway. Again I can't speak for Oxford.

And in some instances names and circumstances are most certainly remembered.

I think he’s trying to transfer from one niche to another but failing. He was one of the leaders of the UK studytube videos but now he’s entering into booktube which is already oversaturated with similar creators. Jack just so happens to already have an established audience because of his study videos so he’s doing slightly better. I think the transition would’ve been better received had he integrated the style of videos he's making now more in the past. The celebrity videos are a good idea from a views standpoint and fandoms will share them so he doesn’t have to promote them as much, but I don’t know how long his current ideas will be able to stretch before they get stale.
