He can get lost 😂

If you’re unemployed you generally can’t afford to just rent a place in LONDON ffs Jack is lucky he has YouTube to keep him afloat.

This is the worst financial crisis since 2009 so he needs to get some perspective. Yes it’s tough to be a graduate now but it’s tough for people in their late 20s/30s and beyond who may have been furloughed and now unemployed etc. Literally no one is living it up right now, we all have been effected in some way.

I said it before but he should do that screenplay course, it’s better than nothing. Also i don’t see what he’s expecting to add to his Oxford application to get himself in...

Didn’t Ibz Mo shade him a bit in his Harvard rejection video?

Does Jack give anyone else massive Narcissist vibes? He really can’t take even mild criticism well.
I think you're right that Jack is probably referring to Ibz's video where he talks about the "Oxbridge reject". I actually don't think that video was even shade to Jack - it's a really common stereotype in the UK and applies to so many people. But considering Jack reads these threads and that video was definitely discussed here, and he has a tendency to take things personally (e.g. presenting Dylan's silly video as a personal attack against him, name-dropping Holly implying they had beef when it turns out she just didn't follow him back), I wouldn't be surprised if he interpreted Ibz's generic video as a personal attack.

On a separate note, Jack flexing the fact he went to a state school, yet again 🙄

At least in my uni experience (not Durham though!) people shut up about this after freshers week, can't believe he still makes such a huge deal out of it. It's probably because it's the only "disadvantage" he's faced in his solidly middle class life.

I will never understand the trend of using the word 'adulting' to describe living life.

Jack is in an incredibly privileged position, i.e. lives on his own after from his parents, where it's a lot easier to do what you please/be independent. Many people (myself included) can't afford to do that, especially in the current situation.

Yes, you have to look after yourself (i.e. eat well, clean, do laundry, pay bills etc.), but that's not much different to what you do at university. He acts like this is all new to him, when it isn't. It could be a ploy to seem relatable to his younger audience, but he's alienating himself from viewers his age who have got to do exactly the same (but without the moaning).

His hair looks awful, it looked better all one colour before he did anything. Is it just me or have jacks videos gone really downhill recently? his content is so boring since he left uni, like making a big deal out of living on his own as if he’s just doing it for the first time.

I honestly think Jack tweets replies to everything we discuss because hes too insecure to stop checking this thread. And once hes read the criticism it gets under his skin so he wants us to know his reply and hes worked out he can do that indirectly through twitter?

In general I hate it when influencers call these hate threads and complain about them while compulsively reading here. They aren't hate threads, a lot of stuff on here (especially Jades thread!) is very valid discussion and constructive criticism. In my opinion if youre raking in the AD money then you ARE an influencer, however much you might hate that word! And you should expect people to hold you accountable not just blindly praise you.

Also be grateful these threads exist, if they didnt this discussion would be happening in your comments where you wouldnt be able to avoid it...

Sorry for the double post but also:
"I'm not obsessed with Oxford"

"I'm definitely applying to Oxford again"

This time he's applying to other places, which is what he should have done the first time round (even though he got very defensive when someone pointed this out after his rejection). How frustrating.

bravo 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
well said and completely true. His entitlement is showing more and more. His passion seems to be for attention and social media likes and views. Besides his degree he has not demonstrated a passion for literature at all, or for higher education.

in fairness he isnt wrong, he is a published author. But being a published author doesn't mean your immune to criticism or a perfect writer. Studying English at Oxford and being a published author are two very different things. Hell, Katie Price is technically a published author

Getting a job to fill his gap year was something like Plan E (as opposed to Plan A), so that says it all really. I don't particularly like it when people refer to work as 'the real world', but I feel like that's appropriate in Jack's case.

He looks smug AF on the holiday snaps at the cafe table. He really seems arrogant these days. He was somewhat relatable in his first and second yer but this last year, I think he’s become insufferable.

Yet - and also deleting ALL tweets about Oxford... we can only assume that he was rejected surely? As he already has the degree if he'd gotten an offer it would've been unconditional hence he would've shouted it from the rooftops. I think he's going to keep it secret he got rejected for a third time
100%, he was cocky and thought he could get in if he just kept applying, I’ve said before they know what they’re looking for and he isn’t it. There’s nothing wrong with not fitting into oxford!
Although unless the plot twist is he’s going to Cambridge 😂

Thing is as a 2020 graduate I know that shit is so hard right now like the job market is ridiculous and a lot of us are scrambling for masters' and jobs and whatnot...but I know people who have to get jobs because they don't have anywhere to go, Jack and a lot of the rest of us are able to move home and live with our parents for a bit while we sort ourselves out but I feel like Jack's main focus is content maybe and he doesn't acknowledge how lucky he is to have a home to go to? Obviously I don't know the situation but from previous vids I can't imagine he has a bad relationship with his parents? Like he feels he'll go home and not be doing anything like any normal graduate does but like always he wants to struggle and be ~different~ and qUiRkY uno

Also, a couple of my friends and I received the academic planner (I thought it looked really nice) but mines had pages in the wrong order, pages upside down, my friends had pages missing. We've all reached out about getting a new planner and just getting ignored! Not a good look. Wish I had bought Ruby's instead :( For how much the planner cost I'm actually a bit gutted.

Also being different courses has f all to do with it. Jealousy doesnt have to be about the same course, jack wanted to go to oxford, a competitor in the same niche got in. That's enough to be jealous of. He is also insinuating the that if it had been the same course the other person wouldnt have got in.

Are you guys joking? Did we watch the same video...? 😮 I think Ibz 's video is bullshit, he says that if someone applies for a Masters and then gets in and thinks they deserve to be there then that means they're arrogant... but if you earn an offer you DO deserve to be there, and thinking you do isn't arrogant at all! Ibz definitely believed he deserved to be at Cambridge ... Why is that okay but believing you should be there for Postgraduate isn't??!

Jack is a different situation anyway, he clearly doesn't deserve to be there as he wasn't good enough for an offer.

Also remember this is Ibz 's SECOND rejection. He's a year ahead of Jack, so to speak. Feels weird sticking up for Jack 🤣 but I feel like we can only compare his reaction next year to this video from Ibz. If Jack applies again and is rejected again and then decides to move on he's done exactly the same thing as Ibz so.
It's also jack's second rejection. Different level of studies yes but Oxford has told him twice that he isn't what they are looking for.
