such lazy, lazzzzzy content. two books does not make a haul, jesus
Honestly, I was like that’s it?!? Because of the thumbnail etc but guess they AD sense is good so he’ll publish whatever, he didn’t even really talk about other books he’d have wanted to buy!such lazy, lazzzzzy content. two books does not make a haul, jesus
I looked through the comments and the main point his adoring fans seem to be going for is: "Anyone claiming that you're lying about reading so much is just jealous that you read so much more than them!"Just looked at the Twitter thread and find all the fawning slightly nauseating. I notice someone describes him as an ‘A1 bibliophile’. Perhaps it is just me but I tend to think of a bibliophile as someone who reads books from a range of genres (not just fiction) and has a deep love of literature. I don’t follow his content closely, but I think most of Jack’s videos tend to be responses to various popular works of fiction made ‘famous’ by ‘celebrities’. Please correct me if I’ve got hold of the wrong end of the stick.
Spot on. Every book he “reads” is always a Waterstones bestseller or a trendy-celeb virtue signalling novel about something he thinks is “amazing” or profound. When in actual fact he just looks like he has no taste in books. If I have to hear him talk about Hamnet or A Little Life one more time.Just looked at the Twitter thread and find all the fawning slightly nauseating. everyone knows adsense money is highest in december (i'd assume that includes the days between christmas and new years?) so makes sense he's trying to milk that before it's too lateHonestly, I was like that’s it?!? It’s just the app! I was cringing when we called it the story graph the whole time when it’s legit just StoryGraph, also jack you saying 160 isn’t an amount people have to read, I don’t read for my job and have done more than you so stfu, he honestly is so cringe in that video, clutching that ikea mug for dear life….I’ve not looked at the video, but does anyone else think all the pie charts are a bit weird? Something to do with his ‘reading trends’.
He was obsessed with sally rooney and the book normal people. So i was plnning to red but im questioning his opinions now. Any ideas if its a good suggestion or nah?Spot on. Normal people is marmite, so many people who don’t read regularly or read outside of particular genres and are all over tik tok love it, but there are some fundamentals (in my opinion) that sally Rooney doesn’t have! If you’ve watched the TV show, you’ve legit got the good end of itHe was obsessed with sally rooney and the book normal people. So i was plnning to red but im questioning his opinions now. I personally really liked normal people, and it really helped me get back out of my reading slump. I can see why it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I wouldn't be put off reading it just because Jack liked it!He was obsessed with sally rooney and the book normal people. agreed, I liked it a lot, you just gotta like the literary style and be okay with it being very character-driven, not plot!I personally really liked normal people, and it really helped me get back out of my reading slump.
