Question: is there a movement around gay men who don’t want to have sex with trans males?

There doesn't seem to be anywhere near as much pressure and coercion as lesbians seem to be getting. Likely it's that male sense of entitlement bubbling away under the surface.

I still don’t know what TERF stands for.
Plenty of comments on the acronym in this thread. It's essentially a slur used to silence women who dare to speak out on their sex based rights and protections being infringed on by self-identified women.

There is a great article inThe Times magazine about detransitioning women. It's so sad that these women were basically told they were trans and given hormone treatment because they didnt like pink or because they were lesbian and hadn't come to terms with it, or had been sexually abused and felt safer as a man. One poor woman was going through the menopause at 23 yet the consequences hadn't been explained to her. She is at huge risk of osteoporosis and cancer as she had her womb and ovaries removed. I hope these people sue the clinics. It's a growing number of detransitioners but they are silenced and abused by trans activists.

The trans lobby are trying their best to stop detransitioners speaking out like this.
In fact, the subreddit r/detrans was recently banned as well as all of the other subs I was a member of where we could speak about these issues: r/truelesbians, r/LGBdroptheT, r/GenderCritical r/itsafetish, etc. This was under the guise of reddit banning "hate speech".

This is cancel culture, creating a climate whereby people can't come together to discuss these matters (as we are doing right now). They think that by removing our platforms we will have no choice but to sit down and shut up, but I'm going to keep standing up and speaking out anywhere I can.

Numerous people resigned from the Tavistock Clinic because of its dodgy practices. Here's one account: https://quillette.com/2020/01/17/wh...-need-therapy-not-just-affirmation-and-drugs/

One of my biggest concerns personally is young gender non-conforming lesbians being pushed into transitioning, and the peer pressure these young girls are experiencing. This thread is really interesting regarding school age detransitioners: https://tattle.life/threads/19920/

I'm also very concerned for youngsters who have (possibly undiagnosed) ASD and are experiencing gender dysphoria being encouraged to transition without the ASD aspect being explored at all:

It's the claiming to be oppressed and vulnerable that gets me! You can't opt in to being a woman and then play the victim when females have been oppressed and victimised since the beginning of time.

Agree. I wasnt into ' girly' stuff at all when I was a child. I still hardly ever wear makeup or jewellery. I am just as much a woman as someone who wears lots of makeup and loves fashion. Because women can like different things. Its terrifying to think, as these women said that they would turn up to a clinic saying they were confused about their sexuality or hated their newly forming bodies and would walk out with testosterone prescriptions. All the women in the article said they needed counselling or psychotherapy to deal with completely separate issues but were pushed into transitioning. Most mtf transitioners are middle aged. They have lived a life with all the privelege of being male, usually got married and had children with women who had the lions share of disadvantage that comes with that and then decided to become women. No doubt when they get fed up they will throw of the shackles of womanhood in old age. most ftm trans are teenage girls. A teenage girl will have destroyed her fertility and have life changing surgery that means she will have to be on HRT for the the rest of her life. What happens to boys who have their genitals removed and then change their minds?

Christ, I hadn’t realised all those subreddits had gone. I find this whole thing bleeping mind boggling. Are there any other topics in life where anyone not buying into the agenda is silenced? It’s so strange.

And this is what seems really obviously backwards to me about this whole thing; they think it’s progressive to see a girl who doesn’t like girly things and diagnose her with gender dysphoria, prescribe a load of drugs off label that we don’t know the longitudinal effects of yet, or worse suggest bits of their body is operated on...all because she didn’t like pink and ballet? This is the most extreme entrenchment of gender stereotypes hailed as progressiveness. When I was a child I hated pink and anything girly too, I used to insist on wearing black men’s clothes and wanted my hair short. As an adult I’d say I’m much more ‘feminine’, I wear make up, perfume, have long hair, I’m also heterosexual so it’s not even like all kids like this will end up gay either! Sometimes it’s just kids being kids. I worry what they would’ve said about little girls like me these days.

This is interesting, regarding Reddit. Especially in view of the fact you can sign up to the site as a 13 year old and there remains a large contingent of abuse porn/ grape porn / underage porn subreddits (even some of the names of these are disgusting), some hidden, some not. It's only female subreddits who question it that get banned.

Personally I liken it to any criticism of Israeli apartheid being shouted down as anti-Semitism when it is in fact anti-Zionism.

Former Israeli minister Shulamit Aloni said the following when she was asked about the term 'anti-Semitism': "Well, it’s a trick, we always use it. When from Europe somebody is criticising Israel, then we bring up the Holocaust. When in this country [the US] people are criticising Israel, then they are antisemitic."

You can't criticise Israel's treatment of Palestinians without being branded anti-Semitic and you can't speak up on women's rights and protections being eroded without being branded transphobic or a TERF.

Not wishing to derail the thread with this post, just sharing an observation. 😉

New thread name suggestion: J. K. Rowling: She Who Cannot Be Cancelled

Interesting that the men complaining on Twitter about the inclusion of a transgender model in the Sports Illustrated annual swimsuit edition aren't getting even a fraction of the abuse that JKR is.
