Thank god for JKR giving us a loud voice. I’m so angry at those who are trying to ‘cancel’ her over this, particularly women who should have empathy. Look at this job advert from Sheffield City Council, read it, digest it. Anybody who can’t see an issue (clue SELF IDENTIFYING) has no right to speak on the subject because they’re clearly not capable of thinking about the implications.

That is completely in breach of the Equality Act, no? What bleeping IDIOTS. I've had enough.

It is definitely in breach of the Equality Act. The GRA has been shelved so someone who decides they are a woman on a Tuesday should not be able to access women only spaces.

“We only accept applications from women, including men who identify as them”

So not women only then.

I’m sick of everyone expecting women to put other people’s feelings above our own. I asked my NHS practice last year to guarantee me a woman to do my smear as I was grape years ago and find it all very traumatic. They wouldn’t do it, said it’s whoever is free on the day and if I get there and not happy I can book another appointment. I ended up paying to have it done privately where I could select the practitioner myself. Why do I have to pay to avoid extra trauma for something that is already extremely distressing to me to avoid hurting the feelings of some woke idiot? I’ve had enough of it all.

So sorry you went through that ❤

This is the stuff i am concerned about! What if you had someone who identifies as a woman doing your test and you refused it based on that!? You’d be accused of all sorts and your own valid feelings wouldn’t be taken into account.

Exactly and in relation to the above post, surely anyone with half a brain would think women who are the victims of sexual violence deserve to have their needs put above those of whoever wants to self ID. You cannot just demand access to those jobs. Find another job. Why doesn’t anyone care about the impact this has on us? Why are we expected to put up and shut up? What a massive insult to women to expect people who have reached out for advice or counselling on sexual violence to have to be counselled or advised by a man. I can’t get my head around it.

That is next level BS. Will they give the position to a man because "inclusivity"? Or what if a man doesn't get the position and cries "discrimination"? I wouldn't be surprised if that sort of thing has happened already

That is despicable. I'm so sorry you had to go through that. Society as a whole has lost its mind

The job advert above is just one example of where the lines are becoming blurred. Personally I wouldn't feel comfortable discussing sexual violence with a trans woman. Just as I wouldn't feel comfortable being strip searched by a trans woman police officer or airport worker. If this were to happen you just know that I would be deemed the unreasonable one for objecting!

I'm a member of an organisation that holds elections for certain positions, and a number of seats are reserved for women to ensure fair proportionality. There is one individual who stands as 'John/Jane Smith' (it literally says that on the ballot paper). He goes for the male seat and if he doesn't get that then he automatically goes in for the female seat also, and is usually elected.

I'm astonished every time I see it happen, that people are voting for someone who goes by John/Jane to a female seat and he is winning.

This is horrendous. Imagine finally seeking support for a very traumatic experience, being guaranteed support from a female member of staff and then walking in to find a man sitting there.

The reason the TRAs are so pissed off about JKR speaking up is because she can't be cancelled.

They relish in "exposing" and doxxing women who don't agree with their extremism, writing anonymously to their employers trying to get them sacked.

I've seen many people on various platforms saying how transphobic she is. When I ask them to specify exactly what she has said that's transphobic, surprisingly I don't hear anything back.

🤷🏼‍♀️

On another note, did anyone see the anonymous message Posie Parker received from a TRA? I've placed it in a spoiler as it's very disturbing.

In my eyes the people who are calling women like me TERFs are siding with people like this:

Dreadful, and very frightening.

Thank you and I totally agree. My experience has only spurred me on. I am fortunate I could afford the £120 for a private smear but what of those women who can’t? If women avoid smears or cancel them when they are forced to have it done by a biological man this is going to cost lives at the sake of not hurting trans people’s feelings. It is not acceptable.

It’s crazy, if you search its already widespread. I hope the “trans women are women” bandwagon jumpers are happy with their incredible inclusivity, because now even young girls aren’t safe from having someone biologically male involved. All the man has to do is self identify. 😡

Re the HP actors responding: I wasn’t surprised by Watson because she did an interview with Paris Lees recently for Vogue while promoting Little Women. So already on the ‘woke’ trans women and women bandwagon.

It’s not an article that endears her to me, and I’m the same age and dealing with similar ‘what on earth am I doing with my life why haven’t I reached this milestone or that’ etc.

Ironic having a trans women interview Watson when one considers the book is an examination of female relationships and the private realm women occupied during the period?

I mean, TERF is hardly an insult when you look at it logically. It’s just an acronym of a description. If you follow aspects of what may be considered radical feminism, that excludes trans ideology as anti feminist, then yes, you are a TERF. Hardly a slur in my opinion.

I feel something like bleep is probably more offensive in the sense it’s using a tina to describe someone as abhorrent and nasty. You don’t get the same connotations with a pen.
I've reclaimed the bleep word 😁 and use it all the time to piss people off, men in particular hate it.
It has a great guttural abusive sound to it much like duck. I have no idea why it's considered more offensive than wick.

If self identifying women conduct medical exams for WO-menz probleeeems will they still have to have a chaperone present? I’d certainly be bringing my own!

There are also many women who live in this country from other cultures who would have a major problem with this. I certainly know that some Muslim women would not want a man giving them a smear test or searching them.

yep, i made a post on the gender topic about a situation in my area.

Women only swimming sessions which muslim women attended but they are now open to people identifying as women and to a muslim woman, that person is still Male, so why aren’t their beliefs valid in these cases.

That person would still be a male to me also and I serve no religion. Female spaces, sessions, support groups and also everything that comes under that ‘female’ banner should not include anyone who is born male. Because *gasp* they are not female. I will never ever be of the belief that trans women are women. Because they’re not.
