A healthy body is not one that drives a person to suicide. Yes, mental health is a struggle when you are a trans person suffering with gender dysphoria, but that is exactly why this kind of language is harmful. It doesn't help anyone. Have your opinions about "healthy bodies" being "disfigured" but remember all of the especially young trans people who put themselves through hell just to feel safe and happy in their own mind and body. What a person does with their body to make themselves feel like "them" is really none of your concern, nor mine.
Trans people need acceptance, love and a little bit of empathy. Goes a long way. Much further than the kind of comments I've read on this thread. I hope to god no trans person ends up on this thread, given the cruel nature of most of the comments.
Language is not harmful. What a deranged fascist thing to say.
If they’ve “put themselves through hell just to feel safe in their own mind and body” is mentally ill in the extreme, as is demanding to be hug-boxed by the whole world, under the threat of suicide. Thinking you have been born in the wrong body is an obsession and a delusion, and no one else should be forced to partake in other people’s mental problems.
On that note, autogynephilia is a narcissistic paraphilia where they get aroused by other people treating them as female. No one should be forced to participate in other people’s sex life.
I have no extra empathy for trans beyond what I feel for any other human being. They’re not special, and there are people with far worse problems in the world.
No one gave a sh1t what they did with their own lives, until they started dismantling women’s rights and mutilating gay children.
after some reading today around the issues trans women face, specifically written by trans women, it became clear to me that the things they are calling transphobic aren't to do with being trans, they are to do with being a woman.
being cat-called, used for sex, threatened and abused by men, being looked as an object of lust, being called derogatory names.
stop further marginalising yourselves and join us as women and fight the problems we are all subjected to.
That pisses me off too. You wanted to be a woman? Well you got it. We can never escape it like they can.
