That is completely in breach of the Equality Act, no? What fucking IDIOTS. I've had enough.
It is definitely in breach of the Equality Act. The GRA has been shelved so someone who decides they are a woman on a Tuesday should not be able to access women only spaces.

after some reading today around the issues trans women face, specifically written by trans women, it became clear to me that the things they are calling transphobic aren't to do with being trans, they are to do with being a woman.

being cat-called, used for sex, threatened and abused by men, being looked as an object of lust, being called derogatory names.

stop further marginalising yourselves and join us as women and fight the problems we are all subjected to.

It’s crazy, if you search its already widespread. I hope the “trans women are women” bandwagon jumpers are happy with their incredible inclusivity, because now even young girls aren’t safe from having someone biologically male involved. All the man has to do is self identify. 😡

Someone made the very good point that "problematic" male creators have never, ever had to face people claiming they didn't actually create their works. JK Rowling just said biological sex is real, but the likes of Roman Polanski, Woody Allen, etc (literal RAPISTS) have never had to suffer losing their credit to their work.
That is a good point. It just strikes me as incredibly childish to take away credit, as if their opinion has any correlation with their ability to produce great work. I mean, Roman Polanski and Woody Allen are not only still acknowledged as creators, but praised

I just don’t get it

Also I feel like other celebrities are being baited to get involved. Saw a tweet claiming Shakira was the author of Harry Potter - obviously a joke but she’s completely irrelevant to the situation so I don’t know why she’s being put on the spot

The trans lobby are trying their best to stop detransitioners speaking out like this.
In fact, the subreddit r/detrans was recently banned as well as all of the other subs I was a member of where we could speak about these issues: r/truelesbians, r/LGBdroptheT, r/GenderCritical r/itsafetish, etc. This was under the guise of reddit banning "hate speech".

This is cancel culture, creating a climate whereby people can't come together to discuss these matters (as we are doing right now). They think that by removing our platforms we will have no choice but to sit down and shut up, but I'm going to keep standing up and speaking out anywhere I can.

Numerous people resigned from the Tavistock Clinic because of its dodgy practices. Here's one account: https://quillette.com/2020/01/17/wh...-need-therapy-not-just-affirmation-and-drugs/

One of my biggest concerns personally is young gender non-conforming lesbians being pushed into transitioning, and the peer pressure these young girls are experiencing. This thread is really interesting regarding school age detransitioners: https://tattle.life/threads/19920/

I'm also very concerned for youngsters who have (possibly undiagnosed) ASD and are experiencing gender dysphoria being encouraged to transition without the ASD aspect being explored at all:
Christ, I hadn’t realised all those subreddits had gone. I find this whole thing fucking mind boggling. Are there any other topics in life where anyone not buying into the agenda is silenced? It’s so strange.

I’ve been called a middle aged woman online before. The funny thing is I’m not even close to middle age! They couldn’t have possibly known my age so it was definitely used as an insult In this particular context, “Oh you have such and such views, you’re just a middle aged woman anyway so sit down and shut up”. It is as if being middle aged somehow makes your views less valid, so they throw it out there in the hopes they are correct and it shuts you up. It’s a bit like how the word ‘cow‘ on its own isn’t an insult, ‘bitch‘ is also a term for a female dog but these terms are certainly used as insults towards women.

The Body Shop replied to a woman’s email about their recent tweet towards JKR. Called women menstruators and said men can have periods. They’ve really outdone themselves.

I don’t think she should, it would be satisfying but terrible, terrible PR. She would be portrayed as spitefully sticking her middle finger up to her fans.

It would be better to remind the public that she happily allows these backstabbers to profit off of her copyright, and that she would appreciate it if they didn’t ostracise, erase, and lie about her to manufacture outrage.

It’s ironic that JKR’s ended her essay with something like “all I ask - all I want - is for women with concerns to be treated with empathy”.

The genderist response has been a big fat NO.
Actually yes that would be a far better response. She would do well to remind not only the Harry Potter kids but all these crappy websites that they do not own Harry Potter. She does. All they have done is profit off her back. Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson would never have made it as actors without her. They are mediocre at best. As for Harry Potter fans. Grow up. My 9 year old reads those books.

Women who don’t have periods includes the vast majority of women at some point in their lives, including pregnancy, medical issues, hormonal contraceptives, and menopause. Biological women have never, ever caused a fuss about saying not all women have periods. It’s common sense and shows transwomens’ unreasonable sensitivity about the issue.
Exactly! A very tedious woke feminist in Ireland wrote this. Rubbish argument

"In the middle of a global pandemic and a long over-due reckoning with the systemic racism that underpins our societal structures, JK Rowling, the author of the phenomenally successful Harry Potter series, decided to share an article on Twitter titled, ‘Creating a more equal post-COVID19 world for people who menstruate’.

“People who menstruate,” she tweeted.
In the article itself, the journalist wrote that “an estimated 1.8 billion girls, women, and gender non-binary persons menstruate”; and while it is clear they used this particular heading for brevity’s sake, it was also accurate. Intersex people may menstruate. Trans men may menstruate, but they are not women. And really, is this how we are going to define women from now on?

I didn’t have a period for years because of my eating disorder – was I not a woman then? What about those are post-menopausal? Or who have had a hysterectomy? By this narrow definition, do they cease to be women as soon as they stop menstruating?

If we are going to obsess about the biological particulars of being born a cis woman, does that mean that those who don’t or can’t bear children will no longer be deemed ‘real’ women either? How far down this road do we really want to go?"

No, we are going to define women by their biological sex. It is you and woke TRAs who are trying to change the definition and the goalposts

Tori Barron's response is ridiculous. "But Joanne, us trans folk are just sitting here. You picked this hill to fight on." Just sitting here, eh. Not doxing people, threatening women with rape, etc etc. Of course, not all trans people. But a good enough number to give the whole movement a bad name. Why doesn't Stonewall or Mermaids speak out against them?
“Just sitting here”... in women’s shelters, sports, toilets, changing rooms and prisons.

Fair play to her. I hope she's dealing with the backlash ok.
Isn't it funny how the whole debate is always centred on "transwomen are women"? Stinks of misogyny.

and the ones who say that, personally make it harder to see them as women. They don't understand the aggressive manly language they're using, these are the kinds of things that have been shouted at women on the street, the kind of thing aggressive men send you when you reject them online. The ones that react like that make you think they're part of the group that does it because it's trendy, you can't say you're actually a woman then act like a man does. I think that's what JKR was evoking if I'm not mistaken.
Some of them used to be mens rights activists who think women have it better in life because of equality legislation etc. They then become trams women but their hatred of natal women still remains. The trans community needs to stand up to male violence instead of concentrating all their ire on 'terfs' who are just women who want to have spaces away from men and away from persons with penises. Trans activists when they say trans people are at risk of being murdered dont say by whom. They blame male violence on women. They dont distance themselves from the violent aggressive language of other trans activists and when trans do people speak out against violent and aggressive language they are shut down by trans activists.

If the 'isolated incident' happened to your daughter what would you do? If all trans women want to do is to take a pee why can't they use the male toilets? If the men there make them feel uncomfortable why don't they take it up with them?

Thank god for JKR giving us a loud voice. I’m so angry at those who are trying to ‘cancel’ her over this, particularly women who should have empathy. Look at this job advert from Sheffield City Council, read it, digest it. Anybody who can’t see an issue (clue SELF IDENTIFYING) has no right to speak on the subject because they’re clearly not capable of thinking about the implications.
That is next level BS. Will they give the position to a man because "inclusivity"? Or what if a man doesn't get the position and cries "discrimination"? I wouldn't be surprised if that sort of thing has happened already

I’m sick of everyone expecting women to put other people’s feelings above our own. I asked my NHS practice last year to guarantee me a woman to do my smear as I was raped years ago and find it all very traumatic. They wouldn’t do it, said it’s whoever is free on the day and if I get there and not happy I can book another appointment. I ended up paying to have it done privately where I could select the practitioner myself. Why do I have to pay to avoid extra trauma for something that is already extremely distressing to me to avoid hurting the feelings of some woke idiot? I’ve had enough of it all.
That is despicable. I'm so sorry you had to go through that. Society as a whole has lost its mind

THANK YOU for this thread. I have reached the end of my tether with social media being an echo-chamber if anti-Rowling hate. I saw people condoning her ex-husband’s abuse. Calling for her name to be removed from all future publications of HP. This cancel culture is utterly toxic.

I will find it interesting to see how HP “influencers” will respond to this. People like Tessa Netting, Cherry Wallis etc... have spoken out against this, but so much of their content is based on licensed merch, visiting the studio tour/universal etc... how can they square that circle?

The one response I thought handled it well was Evanna Lynch. She actually seemed to speak from the heart and not just talk to an echo chamber.
