The reason the TRAs are so pissed off about JKR speaking up is because she can't be cancelled.

They relish in "exposing" and doxxing women who don't agree with their extremism, writing anonymously to their employers trying to get them sacked.

I've seen many people on various platforms saying how transphobic she is. When I ask them to specify exactly what she has said that's transphobic, surprisingly I don't hear anything back.

🤷🏼‍♀️

On another note, did anyone see the anonymous message Posie Parker received from a TRA? I've placed it in a spoiler as it's very disturbing.

In my eyes the people who are calling women like me TERFs are siding with people like this:

Honestly how they think they're on the right side of history is beyond me.

I think they're showing themselves up with all this though. All those people replying to JK Rowling saying 'suck my lady dick' with pictures etc. Everyone watching that who might be unsure on this whole issue - are they going to want their little daughters sharing toilets and spaces where we undress with these people? Absolutely not.

Yup agree. i wasn’t excluding non trans women from this constant fear also just that trans women as a minority are at a higher, very high, risk of hateful violent crime and murder as they are seen as “freaks” or “oddities” and are targeted specifically.
That is simply not true.

In the U.K., there are more transwomen murderers than murder victims.

In the USA, trans people have a far lower than average risk of suffering murder or violence.

The claims that transwomen are at risk of violence come from statistics on black transwomen prostitutes. It’s because they are black prostitutes, nothing to do with trans status. They are still not at unusually high risk compared to other prostitutes or black people.

The dishonest claims of hate, fear and victimhood serve three purposes: to pressurise the public and authorities to give trans people a protected group status; to evoke sympathy and counter the public’s valid fears of strange men; and to play-act as the role of being dainty, frightened girls, which strokes their ego.

I always find they go very quiet when you present them with evidence of how sick and twisted the trans lobby actually is.

I find it very sad that other women will happily call us TERFs for calling this extremism out. I look forward to the day these women get selected for a strip search at an airport and they're assigned a "female" agent of the trans variety.

Edit: missed a word.
I think that's what I find the saddest about this whole thing. We're no strangers to experiencing misogyny from men but when it comes to other women selling their own sex up the river for "woke points" and to appease extremists, it stings

Did anyone else used to like her but now have no time for her? She's not doing herself any favours by getting into Twitter spats and often comes across trying to hard SJW and looking ill informed. Just trying to score points.

I'm sure she does do good loads of stuff with charities as she's known as a generous billionaire. She seems to think people are thick and can't see through her virtue signalling.

I've got a friend that grew up in the same town as her and in her autobiography she lied and said she grew up in the far posher town next door.

Gonna paste this from a post I saw on Reddit that sums things up nicely:
  1. JK is NOT conflating gender and sex, as she is clearly talking about sex;
  2. Gender is not a special feeling or an identity, gender is social stereotypes men and women are expected to perform and TIED TO THEIR SEX
  3. It is impossible to define what ‘gender’ is without either linking it to one’s sex or to reductive stereotypes that generalise women’s / men’s appearances, behaviour and experiences.

Excuse me but you're talking absolute crap like most of the people spouting this vile and hateful nonsense.

In no way are trans people erasing gay and lesbian people that's hilarious. It's not a competition!! I'm pretty certain most LGBT people stand united they certainly wouldn't side with your outdated and small-minded views.

I feel sorry for some of the people on here. I hope you get well soon. The confusion and fixation on trans people is bizarre to me.

Trans people are literally just trying to get on with their lives they aren't trying to attack or take over anything. These are the same narratives that supposed "feminists" use time and time again.

Transpeople will not be erased, they have always existed and their voices will be heard.

This thread reeks of white supremacy and entitlement.
There's so much I want to reply to on this thread but I'll start here as you quoted me.
The notion of transgender ideology automatically erases the definition of homosexuality. If biological sex doesn't exist, AND YES THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT TRANS ACTIVISTS ARE FIGHTING FOR, then homosexuality becomes meaningless. I will repost this YET again.

A lot of LGB people are campaigning to drop the T from LGBT and separate out LGB from TQ+ as they conflict with each other so much.

Like someone said a few posts ago, I absolutely used to think the same way as you. I used to think trans people are doing no harm so let them do what they want. It is only recently that I have changed my stance on this after seeing how insidiously misogynistic and violent the trans movement is.

p.s. Alfies_Boy can you please stop laughing at people's posts? It's childish.

So according to the rules of Twitter we are not allowed to disagree and are being forced to accept that men are women if they say so!
Disgusting
The only saving grace that I keep telling myself is that these Twitter mobs aren’t “real life” and it’s almost worth putting up with seeing this nonsense play out only for the tantrummy reactions every time when reality hits and they discover that outside their tunnel-visioned-block-enabled bubbles, in fact, most people in the normal world don’t actually agree with them.

I’m amused by all the “ways to enjoy Harry Potter without financially supporting JK Rowling” stuff that seems to be going round social media atm with lists of things like only buying the books second hand, not buying official merchandise, not visiting any of the Harry Potter tourist places. I would LOVE to know how those fans who make HP their entire identity are going to reconcile that with their desire to be seen as woke and avoid giving JK their money 😂😂😂

Thoroughly disgusted by the Sun’s headline

“Exclusive: sick taunt of Rowling’s violent ex”

Oh, the sick taunt that they’ve plastered across their front page which is available across the nation and currently sweeping across the Internet like wildfire? The sick taunt that they not only sought out, but deemed appropriate to be headline material? That sick taunt?

How dare they give him a platform. Wankers

I certainly won't be clicking on the daily mail but I'm not particularly impressed by Emma Watson's brand of feminism in this instance (the response she put out, no clue about what else she does). She threw JKR under a bus and didn't even show a shred of empathy to another woman who just said she had been assaulted

Now some parts of the Harry Potter fandom are calling for Daniel Radcliffe to be named author of the Harry Potter series.

That’s not just plagerism that’s fucking insulting. What ever her views, she wrote those books. Nothing will ever change that. How many male authors over the years have been complete weirdos or have even done bad shit themselves, no ones calling for their names to be taken off their work.
agreed! even if you don't like someone or their views asking that they be removed as the author/owner of their work is insane. The fact that they want to put a man's name on a female author's work literally is what used to happen/what female authors did before the second half of the 20th century if I'm remembering correctly

Agree. I wasnt into ' girly' stuff at all when I was a child. I still hardly ever wear makeup or jewellery. I am just as much a woman as someone who wears lots of makeup and loves fashion. Because women can like different things. Its terrifying to think, as these women said that they would turn up to a clinic saying they were confused about their sexuality or hated their newly forming bodies and would walk out with testosterone prescriptions.
And this is what seems really obviously backwards to me about this whole thing; they think it’s progressive to see a girl who doesn’t like girly things and diagnose her with gender dysphoria, prescribe a load of drugs off label that we don’t know the longitudinal effects of yet, or worse suggest bits of their body is operated on...all because she didn’t like pink and ballet? This is the most extreme entrenchment of gender stereotypes hailed as progressiveness. When I was a child I hated pink and anything girly too, I used to insist on wearing black men’s clothes and wanted my hair short. As an adult I’d say I’m much more ‘feminine’, I wear make up, perfume, have long hair, I’m also heterosexual so it’s not even like all kids like this will end up gay either! Sometimes it’s just kids being kids. I worry what they would’ve said about little girls like me these days.

This is why what Mermaids are doing is frightening

This is is grooming and child abuse
Utterly appalling. If I had a child and found out this organisation was asking my child to have secret conversations with them I'd report them to the police, no question. Until a child is 18 their parents or legal guardian are legally responsible for them - how dare this organisation try and sidestep that safeguarding provision. Organisations like this should be outlawed, they are a danger to vulnerable children.

This is certainly not someone who wants to be on board with women. You can see from this post that they despise them.View attachment 158804
That makes me so angry - what right does this MAN have to upset, goad and taunt women? What a truly obnoxious piece of work.

I’ve not twisted anything. I’ve stated what she said and the sentiment of why people are upset. People wanted to know why this was an issue.

This is how her tweet has been understood by 100s of people and rather than clarify her intentions she chose to escalate and toss more fuel to the fire.

And not saying this to escalate with you- I just want to share the side of the trans community - but a trans male could disagree. There are plenty of F to M trans people who still menstruate because of where they are in their journey. They identify as male but are still in a female body. Physically you are correct. But sex and gender identity are two different things.
I think it's obvious she didn't mean women who don't menstruate, for all sorts of reasons including being past menopause, aren't women - nobody thinks that.
But the trans community have been on an absolute witch hunt for her so will twist anything she says to suit their agenda.

Thing is, not everyone is like you, many people refuse to accept that sex exists, and that is where so much of the hate for JKR is coming from.
One of her tweets (about sex, not gender) that she's getting abuse for:
"If sex isn’t real, there’s no same-sex attraction. If sex isn’t real, the lived reality of women globally is erased. I know and love trans people, but erasing the concept of sex removes the ability of many to meaningfully discuss their lives. It isn’t hate to speak the truth."

I also want to add, trans activists: stop using intersex people as your "gotcha" trick. There is so much evidence debunking that and someone here has already asked multiple times to stop using them for your agenda.

Tom initially ‘liked’ one of her tweets, I can’t remember which, and then later removed it. He hasn’t stabbed her in the back like the other brats. She is still following him, so maybe they have spoken in private. I like to think that Malloy is the good one after all

I know it took me a very long time to go ahead with a smear test and there's absolutely no way I would have felt comfortable with a male conducting it. Women should be able to choose to decline on these grounds. I wish I was less anxious on those situations but it took a lot of mental battling to even go for the test with the idea of women doing it. Sometimes I don't think people understand this built in and learned fear of intimacy with strangers, whether that be changing in an gym changing room or having in intimate clinical procedure.
I always end up booking my smears months after getting the reminder. It’s bad enough having to have it done in the first place, I personally feel very vulnerable having it done and I’m sure many women feel the same. If I got there and found a Male or transgender woman nurse was doing it with no female nurse available I wouldn’t be able to go through with it. But I don’t know if I would have the confidence to voice that. Knowing I will get a female nurse is one of the things that encourages me to attend these appointments.

It’s the same with men and prostate exams I’d never expect them to allow a woman or a trans man doctor to do it if they didn’t feel comfortable. To healthcare professionals, yes it is just a job to the majority of them* and they don’t think twice about these procedures, but to the patient during these intimate exams, it’s a time where you do feel very exposed.

*A doctor from the gp surgery I attended as a child got charged with abusing his female patients with unnecessary vaginal exams. He killed himself before the trial unfortunately. But it’s always stuck with me (I wasn’t one of the victims). Whilst most HCP’s are lovely and well intentioned, some of them aren’t and they don’t exactly walk around with a sign on their head. Lots of people didn’t believe the victims of that doctor.
