There's absolutely no comparison. I've seen both my parents after they died peacefully in bed. Luckily, I've never seen what an assault rifle can do to a human body but I've seen the hole left by a .22 rifle bullet in a plasticine head at 25 yards, and what an L98A/SA80 5.56mm NATO-standard bullet can do to brickwork on a rifle range, as well as sat through videos on military first aid courses (which prepare you to deal with lovelies like sucking chest wounds and innards hanging out). As an American - I agree. And btw - it has been proven that - if possible and I'm talking about people who have not died in a hideous way - that viewing the body is the start of coming to terms with the death. I'm also Irish and part southern (Dad) and I can't count how many funerals I've been to.
