I reckon it was designed as a threat so that he picks up the phone. Ioan doesnt care if Alice comes around, he just wont open the door. Obviously he probably called the bluff with the police coz the reason was silly for them to come.
Do we have a context for this? Was it the time she was bugging him to return Elsie in 45 minutes?
Because the police will be able to get access to Ioan's building which she might not be able to do if he lives in a secured building. she is co-opting or threatening to use the police to harass him in his home.

Pretty sure police in the US can’t just go in to someone’s home (including gaining access to a secured building or gated community) because their angry ex is demanding it.
Narcs are empty shells & often insecure so they're jealous of anyone's achievements, esp' those 'close' to them. To make themselves feel better they'll use digs & put downs. When the girls came along she must have hated not being the centre of attention anymore with Yo.
She's very shallow but very jealous of other women because God forbid they might get attention that should be on her.

Who knows what story she might have told them in order to gain access, the police will not go into the house but they will request him to come and talk to them at least outside his house, and that is all she wants to have access to him in person. She wants to humiliate him not resolve anything.
BIB - I might be wrong but still think the underlying reasons she wanted children was 1) to tie him to her for life. 2) babies attract attention & as their mum she could feed off that attention as it reflected on her.
But once toddlers they became harder work & competition.
Where is her genuine joy & pleasure at being a mum? We see his at being a dad but with her it's all about the sacrifices she has made or OTT crap she spouts on SM which she thinks proves what a fab mum she is but her SM presence at the same time contradicts that.
She even said something about Yo being the better parent when it comes to the day in day out stuff.

Sure, I don't know all the particulars, and what you say makes sense. However, the dude got deported and is still not allowed in the country. And, as you say, this was a polished batshit. Alice Evans is not polished She is crude and vulgar, not to mention she oozes unpleasantness and being abusive. I still think that if Ioan Gruffudd wants, he can take the kids. And yes, she will still go nuts. However, what I also argue is that Ioan Gruffudd should ask the court to force batshit to go into therapy and stay there or else. If she wants to see the kids, she should be forced to undergo periodical psychological reassessment and lose her kids again if she is found to lie and go back to her crazy ways.
Someone interpreted earlier her being subdued now to the fact that she has been told she'll win and there won't be any long term RO. I respectfully disagree. I think she is so crazy, that her lawyers told her to STFU or they'll leave her and will lose anyway. She therefore had to step down and away from SM. Being no longer spurred on by her FM and by her own crazy behavior, not to mention that she knows the court will put her under scrutiny, she calmed down much and is trying she is no longer as crazy. That said, this tactic will only win her the kids if her husband does not press on the drinking and abuse, demanding that she be psychologically evaluated. I cannot see how a court will find this unreasonable. She cannot fool a psychiatrist because her erratic behavior is extremely well documented. So I hope IG is setting the stage for all that. And I hope he try wants his kids.

No, they wouldn’t. Not without a compelling reason or a court order. If she called from her home, they might go over but with no imminent crime being committed, I doubt it. People are free not to talk to the spouses they are divorcing and as much as Alice would like it if they could, police can’t force them to.
