Hello. New to this thread!

Watched her wedding vlog this morning. Her friends seem lovely and very normal and genuine. But duck me the squealing, screaming and baby voice. God lord woman. How old are you?!

And she didn't visit the venue prior to the wedding?! What on earth? This is the weirdest thing I have ever heard!

As for all of the influencers she invited...I think this was to satisfy her 'sponsors' and those that had gifted items to get more coverage. The vlog showed her with her 'real friends' for the whole wedding. She barely gave her influencer acquaintances a look in. Which sort of makes me like her and equally makes me sad that she had to have half of her wedding guest allocation to people that she probably didn't care about just so her wedding got coverage. I think she will regret this one day.
Probably spent all their easyJet points on visiting the first choice venue which turned out to be next to some modern monstrosity and so they didn't book it. A subscriber apparently suggested the 'faux chateau not in Provence'.

It physically HURT her to pay for the flight to that first venue viewing didn’t it 🤣

Hello, have been a lurker on this thread. I honestly feel that Victoria is so desperate to be seen as classy and loaded. She doesn't have the money like Tamara Kalinic does. She can't shop on mytheresa, netaporter, etc unless it's gifted. She wants to have a wedding like Chiara Ferragni's, so she pulled out the biggest business deals that she can find and the wedding became so tacky.

She just became a professional beggar to

The wedding was so cheap looking, how do you have such an old crappy venue for a wedding of only 70ppl? Usually people have small wedding so they can splurge on the location and details, they didn’t even have a proper dance floor, it all looked so ghetto. I’m so disappointed because I actually like Victoria. It’s the same as with her office in the new house, she talked it up so much “all white with a bright Moroccan theme” and it looks like boring tit

The wedding was not my style and pictures really say it all. Personally, I see such disconnect between Alex and Victoria that pictures look like the ones in wedding magazines. There is no chemistry at all, they look like models who were paid to take pictures in Ted Baker/ Phillipa Lepley items. It was all for a show, so they can produce more content and tag more beauty brands that have kindly sponsored everything. Each to their own, but I expected much, much more.

On another note, I have unfollowed Victoria today. I have followed her since her beginning and kept finding excuses for her, but these paid ads that she is publishing on a daily basis have diminished her reputation in my eyes. I can not trust her opinion when she is on a press trip with LV fragrances and publishes paid ad for MM fragrance. Next thing, she publishes a picture on her feed, wearing LV bag and writes that she is at seaside retreat with MM fragrances, where as on stories she is on the grounds of LV perfume house. These companies are competitors. Enough is enough, has she got any ethical values? None that I can see!

Time for another round of reporting to ASA. Not a single declaration of ad or gifted.

In that post
She has become one of the worst, she has an air about her like she’s above the rules.
Her wife really needs to start reading the rule book as well. All of his wedding photos should be marked as gifted
There are 168 a kissing barf compliments and 2 saying she didn't declare. Surprisingly she hasn't deleted them. I would comment but then she'll block me and I won't be able to get evidence for ASA complaints.

Hi all - so I reported her a couple of times to the ASA for not disclosing and got a reply saying it’s the CMA I need to contact, not the ASA. So I’ll do that but just in case anyone else is done with her constant flouting of the actual law that’s where you need to go.

How do we report influencer to CMA? She has overstepped mark and I have had enough. Never reported anyone but after all the product placements during her hen party, which were not declared, she shamelessly throws entirely gifted wedding, yet again without being open and honest with us. List of undeclared but obvious gifts is ridiculously long in Victoria’s case.

She wrote on one picture where she featured her latest LV bag that is was a PR gift, but she was either asked to do so by LV or saw that other influencers (Camila Carril and Tamara) have written that item was gifted to them. Without transparency she is only misleading people that follow her.

For someone who wrote a whole blog post dedicated to people not disclosing etc etc etc, here she is

So do I doubt for a second she didn’t buy likes or use bots for Instagram too? No I think she has tried it and I definitely think ‘the wife’ (can’t stop laughing everytime I read that) had a go at fake likes because he seems to get an awful lot of likes for someone with only 60k, he clearly wanted a piece of the adlife pie.

Like why were him and Victoria so obsessed with watching and recording these fake likes, they were studying it for themselves!

Where’s her BFF josieldn these days? Didn’t see her at the wedding!

Also sideline her makeup on her wedding day really aged her.

JosieLDN is another one. She and her husband both buy/bought followers.

I found this this on how to file a CMA complaint:

Truly, this wedding has made her feel untouchable. I think it’s time she gets a firm reminder of the rules she had a meltdown over earlier this year. All that free perfume has made her forget...

Here's the fool-proof guide for Influencer Dummies that Influencers should follow: https://www.asa.org.uk/resource/influencers-guide.html 😆

Any consumer can file a formal influencer complaint online: https://www.asa.org.uk/make-a-complaint.html

Report to the CMA, not the ASA - they can’t do anything about it. But defo report away, the wedding dress, the new LV bag etc. She’s blatantly flaunting the law because she presumably thinks she’s above it and it’s infuriating

Actually... Per the CMA website you need to report influencers to the ASA if they have broken an advertising rule (per their website).

Consumer issues that the CMA can’t help you with
The CMA can’t respond in detail to individual complaints.

The law protects your consumer rights when you buy goods or services. Find out who to contact for consumer protection advice and to make a complaint about a product or service.

If you think advertising rules have been broken you can complain to the Advertising Standards Authority.

On a side note the LV bag hasn’t even been released for general sale yet but they have gifted some to influencers in advance as you can see with the hashtag #multipochette so I’m not sure who she is trying to fool. She couldn’t buy it yet even if she wanted to, I know because I thought the bag was gorgeous and went in store but could only put an advance deposit on it. It comes out here in Singapore on 27th September.

That would make sense except the ASA replied to me and told me to contact the CMA over influencer non-disclosures

Yep. That could easily happen if you contacted them outside of their standard protocol (via their online process). It's also possible that you were advised by someone internally that wasn't familiar with the procedures. I'd use the link they provide here at Gov.uk and on the ASA website.

You can even review rulings against certain influencers here.

(For example, type in "Lydia E Millen" and her case will popup.)

Ah yep.

The CMA deals with Sponsored Content and the ASA deals with Ads.

Given you reported it under "the disclosure of items as gifts" they forwarded you to the CMA. It's tricky, but verbiage and the language used is everything when it comes to this type of regulation.

As a former global ad/media exec, I know there are a lot of nuances in the space. It's absurd, but they explain it in a bit of detail within the email you received.

Here's a one-sheeter on the ASA process to help influencers and the public decide if it should be labeled as an #Ad.

I would use that diagram as a guide to confirm whether it should be labeled as an #Ad. And when reporting the infringement, note the exact verbiage they share in the diagram to confirm why you know it's an ad (ASA) or sponsored content (CMA). That way they can clearly assess whether to address it and you can decide which agency needs to be notified.

ASA Ruling on Daniel Wellington (Example) – 3 Steps to Determine An #Ad

Here's an example of an #AD by Daniel Wellington that the ASA took action against.

A post from Louise Thompson’s Instagram account, seen on 22 April 2018, captioned “sippin’ [sic] on yummy coconuts 3x size of my skull! Wearing my @danielwellington classic petite Melrose 28mm watch and matching cuff… you can get 15% off using the code ‘LOUISE’.” Above the caption was an image of Louise Thompson wearing a watch and cuff with the Daniel Wellington Instagram page tagged.

  1. The caption included the product she was wearing
  2. The caption included a promo code
  3. The post tagged the brand mentioned.

If 1-3 are in a caption and "#Ad" is not there, in a prominent position, the post is likely breaking ASA rules. This goes for Instagram Stories as well.

If you think advertising rules have been broken you can complain to the Advertising Standards Authority.
