Interior Design Masters #2

I think it needs a make over to continue as a show. My thoughts are:
1. New presenter, Michelle is just void of personality and so inconsistent with what she’s saying.
2. Stop bringing on the influencer interior designer wannabes and bring in others with talent.
3. bring it back where they consulted with the owner more before and after the make over
4. Increase the budget and time needed for what they’re doing. This is having a clear impact on the standards of the results and I’m sure their budget for the show would have to cover the damage caused.

What I want is it going back to the early days of this show. It was much better then.
I agree with all of these! Especially number one because (maybe it was editing) she was having a go at Duran using glass but Jonny also used it too and so did others I believe.

I might be dreaming this but I swear they used to have three days to complete something?

I only had half an eye on the last episode so may be being unfair but some of them just seem to stick to what they've been doing every week
We just have to think the Interior Design Gods that Emily put down the paper mache this week.

Really, the real stars of the show are the carpenters and decorators having to pull off so much from so little. They get such nonsensical instructions and crazy requests. No proper drawings/plans for these guys and only two days to pull off everything 🥲

It’s hard to believe this is the show that gave us Banjo. Whoever decides on contestants failed badly this time, or not enough really talented people entered.

Oh I love Banjo so much.
Such a beautiful soul (and his husband is fab too)
We watch anything he's on ❤

I’m also finding this series flat. The designers just don’t seem as good as previous years. The mess rooms were so underwhelming. Usually whether you love or hate the design they manage to create something with real impact. These ones were just bland.

It's Michelle.
She has zero charisma and can't carry a BBC-level show.
It would be totally unwatchable without Alan adding his bits of silliness.
I wish she'd be replaced with somebody with more personality who can connect with the viewers.

I think somebody like Lawrence Llewelyn-Bowen might be a good choice. Michelle is just too dour for the show and seemingly can’t stand Alan which adds an extra dimension of awkward

I personally have found her a breath of fresh air. No drama, straight to who she's sending home with none of the leading comments about someone else, dramatic pauses then a shock exit, it's normally pretty damn clear who she's sending home, and she gives advice and talks through it without any TV nonsense. I like that. She's been fine in previous seasons, but this season she just seems switched off, not as interested herself. I hope she's ok.

I think Jonni was the right choice to send home this week, he went crazy with his gloryhole room dividers - it just wasn't appropriate.

What's this series been like up to now?
I got half way through the last series and turned it off. Just didn't like the people.

Changing an overpriced boring rented bedsit, into an overpriced badly painted rented bedsit.

Why do they always think they should display their own artwork? 😩
Interior designers don't have to be artists too.

I think the lady who did not put a room divider between the bedroom and the kitchen should have gone. I would not want to look at my bed when I was cooking.

Agree - that was awful. And she's the one that always does those bloody squiggles.
But Michelle loved her passion

Three times on the sofa for Duran - what the hell was her black artwork?, another who used a paint they called "poo brown" but no, let's get rid of Ajeet  Honestly Michelle, let someone else do the job.

crappy brown should've gone or squiggle bed. That colour and the aggressive black line would give me a headache looking up at it. Not a calming bed area. A ceiling curtain would help screen off the bed area. The whole concept of studio apartments is always crappy and cheap. You shouldn't have to eat/sleep/live in the same tiny room. May as well live in a tent.
