I think it needs a make over to continue as a show. My thoughts are:
1. New presenter, Michelle is just void of personality and so inconsistent with what she’s saying.
2. Stop bringing on the influencer interior designer wannabes and bring in others with talent.
3. bring it back where they consulted with the owner more before and after the make over
4. Increase the budget and time needed for what they’re doing. This is having a clear impact on the standards of the results and I’m sure their budget for the show would have to cover the damage caused.

What I want is it going back to the early days of this show. It was much better then.

His JL range is very underwhelming, looks like they just put his name to existing lamps, I imagine he had much bigger plans for it but ran out of time

I thought the paper shop interior design was such that I would remember "oh that lovely indian paper shop in rye". It was distinct and memorable.
The clothes and jewellery shop was nice but not distinct from any other clothing shop. It was pleasant but forgettable.
And I think the purpose in retail is for you to think of their store first when you want to buy. So for that reason the lads were the clear winners.

This is some weak tea but I was talking to my friend who's a bookkeeper earlier today and apparently Craig never had or owned a shop in Clapham. He worked for a lovely woman called Lisa and was sacked after running up thousands of pounds worth of debts...apparently Lisa is still working as an interior designer to try and pay it off.
My friend is going to get some more information tomorrow.

I think it’s an absolute joke that tiny flats like that are seen as luxury. There’s hardly any space for anything! I can’t believe Duran didn’t go! She didn’t screen off the bed at all and constantly makes mistakes. Did Michelle want an all girl’s final or something?
I don’t know if they’ve done this before but I would like to see them make over a bungalow or space for older people (like 65+) with mobility issues/disability. I think really having to plan something out and think of all the different ways you need to accommodate someone who isn’t able bodied would be really interesting to see.

A hotel room needs to be comfy, practical and easy to clean. I want a big bed, a seating area to have a drink, somewhere to hide my case/bag and a bedside table that fits a bottle of water, a book and has a phone charging plug. I do not want papier mache or dried flowers.

Really, the real stars of the show are the carpenters and decorators having to pull off so much from so little. They get such nonsensical instructions and crazy requests. No proper drawings/plans for these guys and only two days to pull off everything 🥲

I love Alan, he’s much better than Fearne was on the first series. Michelle could definitely be replaced.

Watched the first episode of the new series tonight, forgot how random Michelle's comments can be. Stapling plastic leaves to the ceiling should have been a red flag for her sustainability brief if Taos was too much new stuff. Even my kids said Emily's kitchen island at the front was a bad idea, not sure how she didn't see that.
Michelle is always infuriatingly random and inconsistent. The plastic leaves would be a nightmare to keep clean and would harbour bugs and flies.
That idiot putting wooden cladding on.... wood should've been out first. She reduced the space by quite a lot.

I thought Ajeet would make it to the final. His sofa choice this week was horrible though. I think the budget is so small the design suffers.
Emmerly was good, don't care for her art style but her room was good. The kitchen backsplash and her joinery looked bespoke and luxe compared to the others.

The whole " we want to encourage people to rent" bullshit. Young people can't even afford to buy these stupid tiny New York style apartments. This is all you can expect - to sleep in your damn kitchen. Depressing.

The hotel week ones annoy me as someone who used to work in a hotel. There's way too much stuff like Nik naks, cushions and hard to clean things that make these rooms a nightmare for housekeeping. I imagine alot of changes are made to all these rooms after the show.

It’s hard to believe this is the show that gave us Banjo. Whoever decides on contestants failed badly this time, or not enough really talented people entered.

I liked Ajeet's sectioned room - it made it more interesting. As far as I could see all Michelle disliked really was the wood surface of the kitchen island didn't match the wooden table in the sitting room area.

Papier mache woman's was good tbf. Though how she's got this far is baffling.
But of the others there was so many bad bits - the poo wall, exposed bed and squiggle, aggressive use of 70s theme. All far worse than Ajeet's.

On another note I've just started watching on iplayer Banjo and his husband Ro doing up their Ulva hotel. What a lovely programme. That library was just gorgeous. Ro said something like 'you're so good at doing a room and making it look like it's always been there' which is so true.

Michelle is so humourless. I can’t imagine being mates with someone so life sucking. And she definitely can’t bear Alan 😂. Kelly Hoppen the same. So bloody boring and up themselves

When it’s a business I always check out their insta afterwards. Interestingly Craig’s and Johns venues have kept their designs, Rita’s hasn’t.

I really liked Ajeet and Emmely's room. I would have sent Leah and Ben? home, the desks in the middle was a good idea but the cork wall, waiting area and spotty desk looked a bit rubbish.

I loved the couple who got sent home's design.

A bit like last week where I thought they sent the wrong person home.

The clothes shop was so generic. Could have been anywhere. Also the owner wanted something different to display the jewellery other than a display case. But they put it back in (mismatching) display cases with some rocks. Granted it was a bit of an improvement but nothing groundbreaking. Also some of it was so low to the ground it's not practical to see.

The paper shop was beautiful, gave a sense of brand and was completely in keeping with the product it was selling. Really hope John keeps this up. He has some of the best ideas but has really struggled on the time keeping front.
