I have been to Port Merion a couple of times. It is bigger than it looks. There is a lovely walk through the woods to the beach. I also love the Port Merion pottery. If I was richer I would buy the botanical collection designed by Gough William Ellis's daughter. I have not watched the final yet.

I feel like this series went by so quickly. And (though it could just be me) i felt like they didn’t team up as much as previous series?
When they’ve done a shop previously they have got the owner involved by asking them what they wanted on camera but they didn’t do that this year?

Although Rita's kitchen (and hallway to some extent) let her down I am baffled by John's win....if you've gone on holiday to Wales then why on earth would you want to be transported to Greece? Surely it missed the brief? And some of those wallpapers were absolutely rank

I like the lamp but I don’t see how he designed it. I really dislike the print used on almost everything. It’s so expensive too!

It was amazing how bland the cottages were before, especially for a place like port meirion!

His JL range is very underwhelming, looks like they just put his name to existing lamps, I imagine he had much bigger plans for it but ran out of time

I thought that. Very dated and boring not what you'd expect from such a place like Port Meiron. Wonder if they have been changed from their designs.

I’m so gutted Rita didn’t win, she’s been great throughout the series but John’s cottage was better and he really did grow and learn in the competition. I wonder if he’s now given up teaching, that JL collection won’t set the world alight!

It doesn't seem worth the effort to end up with less than 20 black and white items for sale at John Lewis. Is the exposure worth a fair bit to the contestants?

I'm probably being unfair, but other than painting a bit of the bed blue, what else did Craig do in the final, other than keep trying to be a presenter?

I still follow Siobhan who didn’t win a previous series and it’s been a huge launchpad for her. She’s done a book, a range of wallpapers, even some swimwear. And some installations eg Christmas decorations at a big stately home, some retail shop fits etc. She lives in this amazing maximalist house and shares a lot of that content and she’s also become a bit of a plus size fashion influencer. I think if you’ve got personality and a strong viewpoint you can do really well, I hope Rita gets the same success.

I feel like the judges forgot about the practicality angle when looking at the final designs. Only once was it brought up that the bright orange will be good because people will have suitcases and scuff the wall etc. But when praising John’s they didn’t say anything about having pure white in the bedroom (people will scuff it, it will get dirty), that headboard he made looked to have an open top which will be a nightmare to clean and will just be full of dust and dead woodlice in no time, the seats in the living room were striped with white which again will get dirty very quickly.

The 2 different blues in John's bedroom really annoyed our household but wasn't mentioned elsewhere so may have just been us, do think should have been the same to tie them in together

Loved Rita through the series but in the final I think she got too distracted repurposing things for the sake of them, the basket lampshades for example, and drawing on her walls lol.

At the same time whilst i loved loved what John did, I think he got carried away with the Greekness of it all and lost some of the Welshness.

That JL range is truly awful.

I overall liked that bedroom but agree 100% about the two blues. They were too close in colour so looked jarring - a completely different colour would've worked - terracotta? (I've no idea as have no clue tbh 😂 ).

And agree about Rita's basket lampshade - I thought it looked bloody awful. Like a huge upside down basket.

Does anyone know where to find what shade of paint they used? Loved the red and pinky beige Rita used in her bedroom
