David Baddiel replied to her after her Twitter break saying he hadnt heard what had happened but he was glad she was back, and then some guff about her qualities as a superlative human being (I paraphrase). Quite a few of them said they didn’t know what she was referring to when she said she’d been through a hard time

I really wish I'd taken screenshots of her now-deleted tweets and the outpouring of sympathy for her; it's annoying me that I don't have a tit list of the many, many blue tickers so I can unfollow/mute accordingly. Pretty sure David Baddiel was one but there were so many!

I don't know how any of them (many claiming to be journalists) reconcile their lack of condemnation for EJ and lack of sympathy for the victims with their morals.


I don't know when they moved but he was arrested in 2018, bailed, and this didn't come out until recently.

The teenager he was fooling around sold her story. Apparently that was going on around the time he met IK. I wonder how his first wife died.

Yeah, I’m close friends with the teenager. The story was outed and then confirmed via press. She’s doing really well now, but obvs a bit freaked out by all this. She’s still coming to terms with it being really bad as she blamed herself for a while. Really didn’t help it was framed as a kiss and tell thing, rather than a what a creepy evil b. It started in early 2010, don’t know when he got together with IK?

Did Sali Hughes reply to IK's comeback tweet, does anyone recall? If so she's deleted her reply (just had a look at her timeline on June 19th).

I don’t think Sali did reply to that tweet.

I read somewhere that they had been together 12 years. Of course that may not be correct. Her daughter was 7 in 20111 according to one Standard article I just looked at. There are a lot of links to articles about her if you start at the beginning of this thread. They moved to Suffolk in 2015 as that is when she sold her house in Chalcot Square NW1 for £6 and a half a million quid.

Yes, I remember this. Like you couldn't find out via a cursory google. Then a couple of non-blue tickers replied with links to the news articles, and were told to pipe down because they were being insensitive.

Yes, I'm not a fan of conspiracy theories, but you can see because he was an mp, and she is a journalist with connections that you'd have to be very brave to report him.

I'm not either, but the fact that this doesn't seem to be a front page scandal is definitely suspicious. I doubt his standing as a disgraced former MP holds much sway, but I think she's pulled in some favours / Fleet Street are instinctively protecting one of their own.

I just read another article that said they got together after the 2010 election which was in May. So who knows what is true!

There are a few tweets in February congratulating them on ten years together. So he was lying and cheating and being inappropriate from the very start. If she stays with him, I'll be amazed. They don't have children together, the house is hers and she has money. Why would you humiliate yourself in that way.

I admit I've only seen a small sample of her writing (mainly articles), she deleted most of her old tweets, maybe she was insightful and funny LOL, I didn't even read her masterpiece "From Pig to Twig", did she ever have a period of writing something that doesn't include judging women's appearances and choices and projecting her own insecurities on others?

Some people I really admire reached out to her too. Isabel Hardman from The Spectator and Iain Dale from LBC radio. They are both at the centre of political reporting in this country so must have known what the allegations are.
