I found a review of her book "In Your Prime" (which sounds utterly dreadful), this excerpt from the review stood out

"She is also ruthlessly rude about Pointlessly Long Hair on middle-aged women – the sort of lank, greying hank that makes the wearer resemble a knackered mermaid. Equally wrong is Pointlessly Short Hair which is supposed to be gamine, but which actually requires an unfeasibly sharp jawline if you’re not going to end up looking like the governor of a women’s prison."

Here's the review in full

I guess she’ll be doing lots of yoga now. Some great comments at the end of the review.

I used to quite like IK. Years and years ago, she had a column in one of the Saturday papers (it’s at least 20 years ago) and she came across quite well in it. So I was looking forward to reading one of her subsequent books. It’s was, however, utter rit. Sub par chick lit with an ending you could see coming a mile off. I still followed her on Twitter for a while but it dawned on me what a bleep she was when she stuck up for Margaret Thatcher (while she was still alive). Apparently it’s not on to make fun of an old lady. It struck me what a divide there was between the so called ‘liberal elite’ who, while they’d lived through Thatcherism, somehow hadn’t quite grasped what people in the North (or anywhere outside London really) had gone through when Thatcher was in power. My ex-mining town still hasn’t really recovered from what Thatcher did to it in the 80’s. Anyway, that’s a bit off topic, and IK still hasn’t proved otherwise that she not a huge twit. Threatening to send her god awful husband round to ‘beef faced’ Tattlers has only confirmed it. Looks like the chickens are coming home to roost with that one. In other circumstances, I’d feel a bit a sorry for her, but y’know 🤷🏻‍♀️
Same here, I really rated her back then. Was it a column in The Guide? I can’t remember... Good heavens that book was rit. “My Life On A Plate”. Super tit...

I can’t believe what I am reading about her husband. Horrific 🤢 why is there hardly any mention of it in the press?

And her filthy hair 🥴 that’s ghastly.

The DM article says ‘he was searching for indecent images of children’ but also states that the ‘image arrived in the form of a spam email’. That makes no sense to me...

I have no idea how IK can let a man who seeks for indecent images of children stay in her house. Alcoholism is not an excuse.

I have to wonder whether her decision to stick with him might be the result of some sort of abusive relationship. It’s obvious he’s a violent man, so I wonder whether undisclosed abuse (that she may not even recognise as such) could be why she’s not run a mile. Most women, particularly if they have kids, would get out immediately I think. In asking why she hasn’t done so, we have to consider the possibility that she could be a victim of this man herself.

Who knows, like a lot of DA survivors, she may even have been brainwashed into thinking she is responsible for his actions in some way. She obviously isn’t, but sticking by a man who has watched the grape of babies is not normal behaviour.

The press aren’t doing her a favour in steering clear of this case - they should be all over it, for her own good as much as public interest. There’s something not right with her silence.

That’s a good point, actually. Even someone as gobby as a IK can fall prey to someone with narcissistic tendencies. It’s never as cut and dried as ‘well, she should leave him’ as much as I can’t stand her.

He was searching for child abuse images, separately from the film he downloaded. So a pattern of behaviour. He's admitted the searching, but says the film clip was in a spam email. A load of bloody lies of course, he's a paedophile. India has supported him through all the drunken fights, and even assaulting those boys, surely she'll see the light now, if she stays with him it'll just be more of the same.

She wasn’t there at the court with him. Hopefully this means she’s not supporting him.

I often think that with violent serial offenders like EJ, imagine all the questionable things he’s gotten away with because either they haven’t been reported to the police or, that they fall under the CPS threshold for charging. Also, of course, friends in high places

Her poor poor daughter. What chance does she have of forming healthy adult relationships with India and Eric as her template? She must be dreading returning to school where surely this whole situation will be gossiped about.

Surely that’s a huge safeguarding concern, children’s services will be involved.

And, India has two adult sons who weren’t adults when she coupled up with him.

Thanks for that, I knew I had read something along those lines but wasn't exactly sure what

I intend to keep my long hair and will relish looking like a "knackered mermaid!"
I have hair down to my bosoms (thanks to lockdown) and it looks fine. I'm 45.

Yes, I'm not a fan of conspiracy theories, but you can see because he was an mp, and she is a journalist with connections that you'd have to be very brave to report him.

I really wish I'd taken screenshots of her now-deleted tweets and the outpouring of sympathy for her; it's annoying me that I don't have a tit list of the many, many blue tickers so I can unfollow/mute accordingly. Pretty sure David Baddiel was one but there were so many!

I don't know how any of them (many claiming to be journalists) reconcile their lack of condemnation for EJ and lack of sympathy for the victims with their morals.

I don't know when they moved but he was arrested in 2018, bailed, and this didn't come out until recently.
David Baddiel replied to her after her Twitter break saying he hadnt heard what had happened but he was glad she was back, and then some guff about her qualities as a superlative human being (I paraphrase). Quite a few of them said they didn’t know what she was referring to when she said she’d been through a hard time

The teenager he was fooling around sold her story. Apparently that was going on around the time he met IK. I wonder how his first wife died.

Absolutely astonishing that the blue tickers have no clue what's going on in the world around them. I can't imagine that that wouldn't have been big news in the luvvie media circle

Did Sali Hughes reply to IK's comeback tweet, does anyone recall? If so she's deleted her reply (just had a look at her timeline on June 19th).
