Thank you 😅 , but by leveraging debt what I meant was (I believe) buying several homes with a downpayment (and having the renter pay the mortgage) vs buying each home in cash and not having to get a loan from the bank.
A word of caution, what you suggest is good assuming you get renters and you have a bit of spare cash to cover emergencies.

Otherwise you could end up loosing the lot, if everything is linked to each other.

Although my father is a doctor, his father and grandfather were successful businessmen.

This is such an interesting topic, I love being nosey 😂 I’m a newly qualified nurse myself so my base pay is 25k, hopefully I will get a few weekend and night shifts to boost my pay though!

Graphic designer, London £52k
Do you mind saying how many years experience you have? I have 5-6 years would class myself as mid weight and I’m on 23.5k in Manchester. Love my job but feel so underpaid ☹

17 years experience. I think you’re underpaid for a mid weight - I was on £32k 10 years ago (although in London). Have a look around and compare, I find LinkedIn handy for that x

Tory HQ by any chance?

My place (Government Agency) is incredibly like that. Type of chair, type of desk, even carpet ...etc. are defined by what band you're in.

It's surreal, I got a promotion and was visited by someone out of Building Services to whisk away my desk and chair to be replaced by ones for a band in which I now reside

Has your husband got any single friends age range 38 - 50?? Will go older if they’ve got a heart condition and won’t last long 😉🤣

That's nuts, she absolutely should do a few years in the US and make bank. Occupational therapists are seriously needed and should be paid properly. I think it's the structure of the US healthcare system (a for-profit system) that generates those large salaries, compared to the UK's public one.

My mum's bff (from Glasgow) makes over $100k as a senior nurse after moving to the US. The person I know making $550k is British and he moved to the US 10-15 years ago after basically realising he was going to be living hand to mouth as a specialist on the NHS. It's sad. For me, I haven't ruled out moving to America, because in investments I could make an obscene amount of $$ there.
You dont happen to know if Social Workers are wanted in the States?!? I get confused by the term social worker in the states because they also have case workers, have liscenses etc. But i did my MA in social work and im obviously with the HCPC. Ive heard our uk MA education is seen as quite good over there, and i would love to move there again! (i was lucky enough to study at LSU for a year when doing my BA) :)

https://www.indeed.com/jobs?q=social worker&l&vjk=13a545b21b080f04 from these job ads I think you can make a decent living in the states, I'd pick a low-cost of living area if I were you. (I know the landscape ;) )

I wonder why footballers’ pay is always mentioned in weeks rather than monthly or yearly like everyone else. Do they get paid during the summer between the seasons?

Ooooh, I'd love a Dave Ramsey thread. I think he's awful, but some of his advice is brilliant in the right circumstances. Although some of his advice is pants, hence why I think a thread would be fascinating 👌
yes and there’s a lot of drama surrounding him at the moment ☕
