A word of caution, what you suggest is good assuming you get renters and you have a bit of spare cash to cover emergencies.Thank you , but by leveraging debt what I meant was (I believe) buying several homes with a downpayment (and having the renter pay the mortgage) vs buying each home in cash and not having to get a loan from the bank.
Otherwise you could end up loosing the lot, if everything is linked to each other.
