it’s a risk you have to take really however I strongly believe that we should be pointing the finger at those screen recording without permission and distributing said content rather than criminalising sex workers for making an honest living.

if someone I know recognises me then I’d question why they were using such sites in the first place. The secrecy goes both ways

I was discussing salaries with my husband today as my teenage stepdaughter is entering the world of work. She is on minimum wage and was raging about how many little she earned. And that’s the hard thing, the lower paid you are the harder and longer you need to work. When you see people on huge salaries saying how hard they work - I don’t think they always realise that people on low incomes work very hard too - just for less reward.

And its all part of the system; high earners need the lower earners doing those jobs and vice versa. I have a friend who is a trained qualified vet nurse, yet she could make more money working in aldi

I know just how you feel! I worked for a software company and the 22-year-old devs fresh out of uni thinking they were underpaid at £35k was soul-crushing.

Yes! It’s the younger devs who are the worst I’ve found. They don’t realise that the salaries plateau when you get higher up the chain! However I did have one guy (mid 30s) tell me that £75,000 per year was not anywhere near an appropriate living wage in the North of England. Fully serious as well. I had to take a minute but ended up making a comment to him about how he should think about going to visit a foodbank to see people who really struggle. He reported me to my manager but she agreed

I work in care & earn anything between £1500-£1900 p/m after tax, just depends on how much overtime I do! Sometimes I can break the 2k mark but I have to kill myself to do so. I think last tax year I earned £25k but again overtime does play into this so I'm expecting this tax year I've earned more as I have worked A LOT of hours. I am slowly coming out of the 'it's rude to ask about earnings' mindset because I do feel sharing can sometimes give you an indication on what you could potentially earn or whether you could negotiate your current wage comparing to others earnings in the same field. It's also helped me because I'm currently in a senior position but next step is management, however, after speaking to others who are new to the role I'm actually earning more because I'm not salaried & they are. So right now a promotion isn't the best idea financially for me at this moment in time, not to say it won't be in the future but atm I enjoy being able to pull a few extra shifts for the extra £

My partner is currently experiencing this in his new job, but more in a “oh you don’t need to worry about that you’re only band 3” or “you don’t get a say in this because you’re only band 3” and even “oh don’t worry about changing that light bulb you’re band 3 you don’t need to do that”... my partners a bit like, well if something needs done why wouldn’t I do it? He feels his new workplace is very focused on what band you are and how that dictates your roles and responsibilities, rather than what your job title actually is.

My place (Government Agency) is incredibly like that. Type of chair, type of desk, even carpet ...etc. are defined by what band you're in.

It's surreal, I got a promotion and was visited by someone out of Building Services to whisk away my desk and chair to be replaced by ones for a band in which I now reside

I used to be an Assistant Accountant (10 years ago) in West Country earning 19k a year. I gave that up as i wasn't seeing my kids - i was constantly working and became mentally exhausted and it had an effect on my marriage. I now work nights in retail earning well less than what i did and im happier for it and i see my children and all is good.
So just because you earn good money doesn't make you happier.
