Wish I could do this !

I work in customs and earn 22k
It’s difficult. There can be some days, even 2-3 days in a row I won’t make a penny. But the best part about it is I get paid daily, 24 hours after making the money

He's doesn't spend it, it's all in a business account so not a disposable income as such if that makes sence. We have one child who's 5. He pays for holdidays but I still take a big amount of spending money and pay for most things when away. We do go big holidays such as dubai etc which I know we are fortunate to do but I paid for me and daughter to go Disney land Paris and he didn't pay a penny. He doesn't contribute to her needing new clothes or shoes etc
What about groceries or things like household maintenance? Do you share a car? And he doesn’t pay for any of your child’s needs at all? At the very least isn’t that something you should reasonably ask him to help with ?

No need to answer if you feel we are prying. But I am also curious, and hope you are ok...

If that was my partner I wouldn't be working.

For food shopping I buy all of that. If we eat or takeaways he pays for that. We each have our own car. He very rarely pays for her stuff he might randomly ask at one point but I have usually already bought it cause she's needed new shoes etc. I buy all the new summer clothes etc.

If that was my partner I wouldn't be working.
I don't have a choice not to work. Also I'm a nurse so if I don't work I loose my registration

I work as a band 3 specialist admin in the north for the nhs and earn 18,800. Married and own a house I have 1200 in my hand a month, but 850 on bills (my oh works really hard for Network Rail and gets a good wack and will always help me or pay for stuff, v generous with money). I feel like I'm always chasing my tail with Klarna and CC I got before our wedding which I maxed out on clothes from Zara! So interesting reading everyones stories. I really want career progression and was thinking about nursing, but it would be a band up from me and hell of lot more stress/hours etc. I am 25.

this is me. Mine is all in my company. I have a wage but not access to it all.
I’d waste the lot! 😂

Ooh, do it! Sounds like you are restless and probably not fulfilling your potential. I guarantee you, not all hours are the same. By which I mean, when you are doing work you find challenging and therefore fulfilling, time passes much quicker than something easy but uninspiring. I used to work a regular 8 hour day, 40 hour week and didn’t hate the job but thought it was pretty normal to be bored out of my mind by around 3. Now I work 12 hour shifts in tv news, hours which sounded impossible in the past, and they never drag liike my old days did because the work is so much more interesting. And it feels so satisfying getting so much done in a day. I think similar sentiment could be applied to stressful situations- working through them feels productive and satisfying in a way you don’t get in a stress free environment. Just my two cents! 😏

£450 a day sounds like quite a lot, but I earn a similar amount and out of that you have to pay accountant fees, holiday, employers NI, employees NI, corp tax, sick pay, pension, training and have little security and time off between contracts.

I don't really work out that much better off than when I was earning around 50k.

I'm 30 and on about 135k incl. bonus in tech recruitment.. husband on 170k incl. annual bonus.. we're definitely in a very privileged position, and we really appreciate it, but lots of stress, travel and late nights required so it definitely has an impact on overall health/lifestyle

Forgot to contribute, I earn 400-550 a day freelance IT contractor.

But I take off a couple of months a year to go traveling, I could earn more but I want to experience life and have time for hobbies.

I own my house outright and my limited company that I solely own owns another house that's rented for 1100 a month (8% management fee is taken out).

I've built up money in my company account by not taking out enough to pay the higher dividend rate.

I've contributed 5 figures to my private pension every year and it's been growing at 12%.

I could not work ever again (i'm mid 30s) and money is no issue with my savings and property income, before I can touch my pension, but I like to challenge myself.

I work 37.5 hours a week, sometimes more for a charity supporting adults with Learning Disabilities and Autism. Variable shifts including weekends and nights which there is no enhancement for. I take home £1250 a month if I don’t do any extra hours.
Rotas are terrible. No pattern to it and shifts all over the place going from nights to days without any days off in between.
I love my job, but the shift work is exhausting at times.

I get £8.50 an hour and work 27 hours a week. I’m at uni full time so it fits in around that but hopefully once I graduate I’ll be earning more

NHS manager - £41k. Partner is on £24k. With mortgage, bills and childcare costs we are getting into more credit card debt each month 😩 I saw someone mention a debt thread, I’m headed there now for some tips.
