I'm honestly shocked at how little they pay nurses in the NHS, based off of the replies here! Where I live (lowish to mid-level COL), new grad nurses are making $45/37GBP an hour. The schedule isn't amazing for everyone (7a-7p or 7p-7a every day for 7 days, off for 7 at my hospital system, others are three or four days on, three or four days off, pretty much everyone works twelve hour shifts outside of doctors offices and clinics) but it's easy to make a lot of money. We still have a lot of nurses on travel contracts because of massive post-covid worker shortages, they are making $4500/week (~3600GBP) and there were some that were almost double that during the height of the pandemic.
So to see y'all working a job that I know is incredibly stressful and being vastly undercompensated makes me sad. I hope that changes! Remember seeing a lot of strikes lately, are NHS workers among them? You deserve so much more.
