My daugter turns 17 this year and works part time buy t I think in the climate children must get to grips with spending and have a reality check financially! It angers me financial health is not taught in schools!!!!

but me and hubby have said we would like 20% of her wage and we will put into a savings account so when she does move out she will have a nice little lump to help her plus hopefully it will teach and Instil budgeting

I was really stupid with credit when I turned 18 and am determined to start my girls on the right path xx

How was she with money? My dad was very strict, my mum more flippant with rules lol. I got my Dads work ethic but my mums spending habits

Self employed Childminder. Obviously depends on lots of factors, esp with covid, but 25-35k.

Used to be a nurse and could only work part time as I’m a single parent - so now I take home so much more a month!

I earn £24,232pcm for working 24 hours per week. Job is pretty boring but easy so I feel well paid given the flexibility I have to work around childcare. My husband is self employed in an incredibly niche role so I won't say what and earns anything from £400 a week on a bad week up to £2k a week working 3 days a week. We are very fortunate but I am concerned his industry is likely to be effected by the increasing prices, so his earnings might drop considerably come April, at which point he will look to get work elsewhere if it becomes unsustainable.

I thought the OP did a typo and it should be pa not pcm? That would also make the comment about pay vs childcare flexibility make more sense?

Oh god MASSIVE typo, I bloody wish hahahaha that's per YEAR not month works out about £1500pcm after tax etc

Band 7 specialist nurse, I earn just over £42kpa not including any additional costs like overtime and travel expenses etc. I hate it though, and am about to start a new job that's only 22.5hrs a week and band 6 in a much more chilled role... CANNOT WAIT.

Customer Service Team Leader on £28.5K, work 7 hours a day, have 42 days holiday per year, worked for same company for 20 yrs, and no longer have a team to lead as they have made a bigger customer service team up north. Don't mind what I do, I work from home 3 days a week and when in office I am on my own which can get lonely as I used to be part of a big team. I certainly didn't want to do this when I was at school and I regret not following my dreams but you live and learn. I'm quite fortunate that everyone I work with is really nice, my boss lets me get on with it and I can be flexible with my hours if I need to be for appointments and stuff. I have no debt or overdraft, learnt that the hard way when I was younger and once bills are paid I'm left with around £800 a month for food/petrol etc. . My husband also works but being self employed his wage goes up and down, we do manage just on mine and don't qualify for any benefits other than child benefit which due to daughters age stops this year. I'd love to earn more and have a really healthy pension pot but with bills rising it's just not possible.

Husband works full time with very demanding job. Won’t say what for privacy reasons. He earns about £850k per year. I’d get really bored just at home so I work part time as a TA in a primary school. Just 2 days a week but I earn about £18k per year.

£130k as a compliance officer for a medical devices company. 9.30am - 5pm Mon-Fri. 30 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, plus 2 week company shut down over Xmas and new year.

Work as a customer success manager on £54k plus around 10% bonus. Job is ok but find it a bit boring. Would love to do something more rewarding but would come with a big pay drop so feel a bit trapped there!
