The way she talks about needing the toilet desparately during runs definately suggests that she has some bowel issues lol. Don't get me wrong, if you're a long distance runner you might have a Paula Radcliffe moment maybe once in a while.
However the fact that she has a running routine with a scheduled toilet trip beforehand makes me think it's a common occurance
To be fair, I’m a runner and I do get it now and again 😂 happens to us all!
It’s funny the mentions of the house and lack of security - Tom Fletcher the other week did a video of him and the kids skateboarding/cycling/scooting up the road I assume is outside their house with peoples cars in it and I thought that can’t be very secure 😧

Another thing (again mentioned on GG but it’s so ridiculously slow I’m giving up on it)

Holly using ‘its all relative’ as a reply to people commenting about her tidiness/productivity levels. To me, it seems ridiculous to be using that as a valid comeback. Here’s why:

1. Yes. Everything IS relative. But, when your level of productivity or cleanliness is at a point where it’s so far off the scale, I don’t think that can be used. People comment those things because Holly’s patterns just aren’t normal, and it’s weird to see. It’s not a case of ‘things being relative’ but a case of ‘this is too far you need professional help’.

2. It shows she doesn’t want to accept that what she is doing might be considered a ‘failure’ or ‘not quite right’. She’s so fixated on being perfect and productive that I can imagine her struggling seeing comments which indicate there might be an issue. She’s so clearly in denial about the extent of her behaviours and the sooner she gets professional help the better.

Yep I'm deffo giving up on GG too

The only things she does throughout the day that aren't working (tutoring and editing) are:
  • Cooking and eating
  • Excercise or exercise recovery
  • Reading for maybe an hour?

She doesn't watch TV, I think she barely watches any youtubers. Her new found need to read (I wouldn't call it a love of reading) stems from her need to have productive hobbies. Hell even when she listens to podcasts she does more research and writes notes on them (and talks about this like it's normal).

She needs to realise that being productive isn't a personality trait, that lots of people work hard (more than 9-5) and are successful and also watch TV and hang out with friends and do bloody normal stuff

THIS!

she doesn’t read out of actually wanting to for herself.... it’s a ‘challenge’ and something that she must succeed at. She’s made it into something that’s no longer relaxing but something she’s using to prove herself (to her subscribers and family probably).

It’s like she’s trying to continue on with this ‘study tube’ stuff even though she’s left uni. Her brand doesn’t fit her time of life anymore and instead of trying to move on, she’s trying to fit everything in her life to be how it was when she was a student.

i don’t think she’s very good with change and is just really struggling to find her way after no longer having academics to direct her life. Everything is just so forced.

I've been doing some research on Oxbridge graduates and apparently 91.6 % of Cambridge students graduated with first and second class honours (2018) Maybe Holly isn't that special after all.

Her work ethic (if you want to call it that) separates her from her cohort I think. But what it does show is you don't have to give up your entire life to do well at uni.

Joanna Wilson (Sister of Olympic Gymnast Nile Wilson) was in same cohort as Holly and although did a lot of intense studying she seemed to do a lot of other enjoyable stuff too

Yeah they did. Johanna is so much more down to earth and balanced than Holly. It’s about understanding balance and being in touch with yourself, and Holly just doesn’t have that balance, because the motive behind everything is ALWAYS to do with success and productivity.

She didn’t just graduate with a first, she topped her year. Regardless, at most Russell group unis 2.2s, 3rds and fails are rare.

Is top of year just a Oxbridge thing as they certainly didn't announce it at mine or anyone who i knows ? Yet it wouldnt make a difference just because you are top of year will not help you get a job or make you easier employee its about all package. There was a saying somewhere that one graduate employer would employee 2:1 grads as oppose to 1st class due to fact he didnt want non-stop studiers but those who had more about them

When i was at Uni they didnt have leaderboard or certainly didnt announce anything, there was an award for best dissertation in some subjects but not mine. I have to agree with comment though easily the best candidates on my course where both mature students who had worked in various other roles before, including medical and military fields and they you could say certainly got the best jobs straight out of Uni.

It’s all about the life experience!

Travelling really did Holly some good for her independence and I think she just needs to get out there more, experience life outside of the such small bubbles she’s been in her whole life!

+ Oh dear lord, she really classifies talking about body hair as a ‘Holly gets deep’?!!!???

Might be an awkward topic for preteens going through puberty but ffs it shouldn’t be that deep for a 22 year old surely??!? She amazes me with the lack of maturity and sheer awkwardness on topics which just ain’t that deep.

I don’t think her Australia experience cultivated her independence at all. It was very much like when she lived at the dorm (/ student penthouse) minus the visits from her family

Holly is a good example of someone who is booksmart and very much academically driven but outside of a structured academic environment seems lost and doesn’t have a lot of self-awareness/introspection (going on runs in intense heat and ending up in the hospital with dehydration despite having a degree in biology so knowing atleast something about the body) . Maybe travelling in a small group rather than completely solo would help her be a bit less inflexible and socially repressed, and relax more. Then again I'm sure it would take her a while to get comfortable around people who aren't her direct family.

The Australia trip was mostly full of freebies and ads, even her osprey backpack was gifted, she mostly had her own room and socialised minimally, mostly when the freebie tour required it of her. Travelling to an English speaking safe country and contacting her parents daily is not massively independent for a 22 year old grad at least.

I dont understand why her and her 26 year old sister are obsessed with their hair removal routines, you wouldn't look at either of them and think hairless girls who look great id take hair removal tips from them

I think any sign of improvement was seen right at the very end of her time in Aus when she actually didn’t want to leave. I feel like she cracked her old routine after 3 months of being away, and just when she got out of her comfort routine, she was back home and regressing again.

Routines are hard to crack, especially when, as Holly says, she’s ‘not okay with being in her own head’, and overthinks a lot. It’s something which she either needs professional help for or something like moving away from home for an extended amount of time (1 year +) will help to ease her rigid routine.

Omg I can’t watch her latest video. It’s 2020, female body hair as far as I know is not a taboo topic anymore *especially since most people didn’t shave during lockdown* and it actually became a trend.

The whole comment section reeks of notliketheothergirls vibes.

Oh look guys I’m so special! I only shave below the knee

YES! literally just not taboo. Plus, lockdown?!!! Of course you didn’t shave pahaha no one cares.

also, when she talks about her ‘furry arms’ isn’t that a side effect of an ED? Like your body will literally grow a layer of fur to try and keep you warm because you aren’t eating enough?? Idk how hairy Hollys arms are but her describing them as ‘furry’ is a bit of a sign, once again, that she just needs to put on some weight.

All the video was about was how she did a sport at a young age that focused heavily on looks and so ever since she has removed body hair.

But in her Q&A with with her sister, Emily was really shaming Holly for having hairy legs and I think she made this video off the back of that interaction. Her mum and sister seem heavily into hair removal and shaming Holly. I'm glad she's realised hair removal doesn't really matter (at least on her legs), and I think her sheltered life has lead to her making a big deal out of it now, when for most people nobody cares.
